Junior Sarah Watson (Winnipeg, Manitoba) earned two of the Zips three first place touches and tallied six runner-up finishes at the Shamrock Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on Jan. 23-24. Watson posted the Zips’ first win as a member of the 800 freestyle relay team that flew to a 7:20.16 time which was nearly four seconds faster than the Notre Dame's relay team that finished with a 7:24.80. Watson went on to post Akron's second win of the day, stopping the timer first at 49.25 in the 100 freestyle. Watson posted individual runner-up performances in the 100 butterfly with a 53:15 time and the 200 individual medley, clocking a 1:59.28 time. In addition, Watson was a member of four relay teams with second-fastest times which included 200 freestyle relay (1:30.97), 200 medley relay (1:39.76), 400 freestyle relay (3:20.57) and 400 medley relay (3:37.15).

Nicole won both of her individual events, going a 2:02.38 in the 200 Individual Medley and going 4:49.30 in the 500 Freestyle. Nicole also led off our first place 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 23.64.
