OXFORD, Ohio (AP) JT Shumate scored a career-high 33 points making all 11 of his shot attempts and Toledo beat Miami 90-81 on Tuesday night.

Shumate, whose perfect shooting night set a school record, buried five 3-pointers. Shumate's only blemish was at the foul line where he missed just one of seven attempts.

Ryan Rollins had 13 points and six assists for Toledo (14-4, 9-1 Mid-American Conference) which now has won 11 of its last 12. Mattia Acunzo scored 13 points and Setric Millner Jr. 11 for the Rockets.

Mekhi Lairy had 17 points for the RedHawks (7-5, 4-3). Dae Dae Grant scored 14 points and Dalonte Brown 12 with seven rebounds.

Akron 86, Eastern Michigan 65

AKRON, Ohio (AP) Maishe Dailey scored 14 points and Ali Ali scored 13 and Akron beat Eastern Michigan 86-65 on Tuesday night.

Akron (9-3, 7-2 Mid-American Conference), which won its fifth straight game, got 12 points and six rebounds from Bryan Trimble Jr. and Enrique Freeman scored 10 with nine rebounds.

Loren Cristian Jackson, whose 22.0 points per game heading into the contest led the Zips, scored just nine on 3-for-11 shooting.

Ty Groce scored a career-high 28 points with 11 rebounds for the Eagles (4-8, 1-7), whose losing streak stretched to four games. Bryce McBride added 20 points and Drew Lowder scored 10.

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) Mark Sears had a season-high 21 points as Ohio romped past Western Michigan 81-58 on Tuesday night.

Dwight Wilson III had 19 points and eight rebounds for Ohio (9-6, 5-4 Mid-American Conference). Lunden McDay and Ben Vander Plas added 11 points apiece. Jason Preston had six points and 10 rebounds.

Greg Lee had 17 points and seven rebounds for the Broncos (2-10, 1-6), who have now lost six consecutive games.

B. Artis White, the Broncos' leading scorer coming into the matchup at 15 points per game, shot only 20 percent (1 of 5).
