Three Student-Athletes Represented on Hornung Watch List

LOUISVILLE, KY — Eastern Michigan's Dylan Drummond, Central Michigan's Khalil Pimpleton & Western Michigan's D'Wayne Eskridge have been named to the 2020 Watch List for the Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse, announced Thursday, July 23, by The Louisville Sports Commission.

The Paul Hornung Award, now in its 11th season, is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission and football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. The winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul HornungAward dinner to be held at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville. This will be The Paul Hornung Award's fourth year as an associate member of the National College Football Awards Association.

Drummond displayed his versatility as a sophomore in 2019 by hauling in 55 receptions for 493 yards and three TDs as a receiver. He also returned six kickoffs for 235 yards (19.6 ypr) and 12 punts for 110 yards (9.2 ypr). All together he tallied a team-best 861 all-purpose yards on the season, an average of 66.2 yards per game.

Eskridge has reached the 50-yard receiving plateau in 12 games and surpassed 100 yards in three contests with a personal-best 240 against Syracuse in 2018.

Pimpleton, a junior from Muskegon, earned First Team All-Mid-American Conference honors as a wide receiver and as a punt returner in 2019, when he helped lead the Chippewas to an 8-6 finish, the MAC West title, a berth in the MAC Championship Game, and an appearance in the New Mexico Bowl. Pimpleton had 82 receptions for 894 yards – leading the MAC in both categories – and six touchdowns last season. He returned 24 punts for 208 yards, averaging 9.68 yards per.
