Eastern Michigan's Odukoya Named To Mackey Award Watch List

NEW YORK, NY – The Friends of John Mackey have released the 2020 John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List. Given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end, the award recipient is selected by vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee. Representing the MAC is Eastern Michigan's Thomas Odukoya.

Odukoya received Academic All-MAC honors in 2019 after appearing in all 13 games that EMU played. The Netherlands-born playmaker earned seven starts for the Eagles. He made a season-high 10-yard catch at Central Michigan (Oct. 5). Most recently, Odukoya and was named a Fourth Team All-MAC Preseason All-MAC honoree by Phil Steele's College Football Preview, July 13.

NFL Hall of Fame member John Mackey is considered to be the best to have played the tight end position. A tight end by whom all others are measured, Mackey was a role model on and off the field as demonstrated by his Super Bowl Championship, his commitment to community and his place in history as the first President of the NFLPA.

The 2020 Mackey Award recipient will be announced in December at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show on ESPNU. All future announcements can be found at www.johnmackeyaward.com.
