MAC ANNOUNCES 2020 ACADEMIC ALL-MAC GYMNASTICS TEAM
57 MAC students honored as the 2020 Academic All-MAC Gymnastics Team
 
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2020 Academic All-MAC Gymnastics team today as 57 students were named to the team.  
 
Highlighting the 2020 Academic All-MAC Gymnastics Team were 10 three-time Academic All-MAC selections including Ball State’s Rachel Benoit and Madeline MacDonald, Central Michigan’s Denelle Pedrick, Eastern Michigan’s Emili Dobronics, Kent State’s Sarah McCarty, NIU’s Amanda Bartemio, Cinny Lamberti and Allison Richardson and Western Michigan’s Taylor Buis and Amelia Mohler.
 
In addition, 19 students were honored as two-time Academic All-MAC selections.  This included Ball State’s Arden Hudson and Brianna Slonim; Bowling Green’s Elena Lawson and Taylor Worthington; Central Michigan’s Nora Fettinger, Kennedy Rae Johnson; Eastern Michigan’s Cortney Bezold, Cali Harden, Brianna Price and Jada Rondeau; Kent State’s Abby Fletcher, Emily Kelly, Sammi Nero and Gabby Williams; NIU’s Catherine Biddle, Mia Lord and Nina Martucci; and Western Michigan’s Alexis Olivier and Morgan Spence.
 
Kent State led the way with 12 gymnasts (Jade Brown, Riley Danielson, Abby Fletcher, Elizabeth Fulton, Maddie Iannuzzo, Emily Kelly, Cami Klein, Kendra Lindway, Sarah McCarty, Sammi Nero, Maddie Trott and Gabby Williams) named to the Academic All-MAC Team.
 
NIU had 11 honorees (Amanda Bartemio, Catherine Biddle, Lauren Gomes, Morgan Hooper, Tara Kofmehl, Cinny Lamberti, Mia Lord, Nina Martucci, Allison Richardson, Zoie Schroeder and Gabby Welch) named to the Academic All-MAC Team.
 
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics.  To qualify, a student must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the regular season meets.  First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.  Outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments for the current season are only considered.
