Day 3 Results

CARBONDALE, Illinois - 
The Missouri State Bears hold onto first place after day three of the Mid-American Conference Men's Swimming & Diving Championships. MSU closed out the day with 607 points. Miami currently sits in second with 527 followed by the Southern Illinois Salukis with 370. 

The first event of the evening went to Missouri State senior Antonio Thomas who swam a 3:502.13 in the 400-Individual Medley. He was followed by freshman teammate Tyler Lewis who captured the silver with a time of 3:54.97. 

In the 100-Butterfly, Miami junior Spencer Klinsky won his first individual event of the championship with a time of 48.45. SIU’s Tamas Hajtman took second in 48.53 and Missouri State’s Jake Schultz followed in third at 48.70.

The MAC Champ in the 200-Free was awarded to Missouri State sophomore Arthur Cury, clocking a 1:36.71.His teammate and defending MAC champ in the event, Pawel Krawczyk finished in the runner-up position, tapping n 1:37.29.

Missouri State’s third 1-2 finish of the night came in the 100-breaststroke.  Michael Hempel touched first in 54.55 and Conner Funke followed 0.18 later.

The final individual event of the night went to SIU freshman Adam Cernek as he claimed the 100 backstroke with a finals time of 47.69. 

In the 400 Medley Relay, the team of Conner Ripp, Michael Hampel, Jake Schultz, and Arthur Cury for Missouri State clocked a time of 3:1534 to end off the night with a victory and their second-consecutive title in the event. 

The last day of competition beings at 11:30 am ET on Saturday for prelims in the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breaststroke, and 200 fly. The first heat of the 1650 freestyle begins at 4:30 pm with finals in the other events starting at 6:40 p.m. Live results for all sessions can be viewed through Meet Mobile.
