MAC Women’s Golfer of the Week
Preaw Sripatrprasite, Eastern Michigan
Junior, Bangkok, Thailand-Siam International
Junior Preaw Sripatrprasite (Bangkok, Thailand-Siam International) notched her first collegiate medalist honor with a two-over 144 (72-72). Her total ranks as the third-lowest 36-hole tally in EMU history only bettered by a 141 (72-69) from Emily Podzielinski at the Cardinal Classic, Sept. 19-20, 2009, and a 143 (69-74) by Stephany Fleet at the NIU Brickyard Invitational, Sept. 10-11, 2007. Additionally, it marked Sripatrprasite's third top-10 showing of the year and the sixth of her stellar EMU career. The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team swept the top three individual spots en route to a first place finish Tuesday, March 3, at the Low Country Invitational on the par 71, 5,713-yard Crescent Pointe Golf Club course. EMU carded a four-player score of 585 (298-287) to top its next closest competitor by 15 strokes, Wingate (297-303=600). The 36-hole mark of 585 is a school-record, bettering the previous standard of 591 set at the Cardinal Classic, Sept. 19-20, 2009. The team championship is the third of the 2019-20 campaign for the Eagles after winning the Shirley Spork Invitational, Sept. 20-Oct. 1, and the MAC Fall Preview, Oct. 7-8. It marked the first time since 2011-12 and just the fourth time (2006-07, 2007-08, 2011-12, and 2019-20) in program history that the squad has won at least three events during a single-season. Overall, the victory marked the 24th title in school-history and the third under Head Coach Stephanie Jennings.
