AKRON
As the Akron women's basketball team enters the final week of the 2019-20 regular-season, the Zips prepare for a pair of crucial Mid-American Conference match-ups. Junior Jordyn Dawson tallied a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds, as the Akron women's basketball team swept the season series against Miami after dropping the RedHawks, 75-62 last weekend. A win over the Bulls on Wednesday would have Akron sweep the season series with the Bulls for the first time sine 2014 and for the fifth time overall.
BALL STATE
Ball State went 2-0 last week at home beating Toledo on Wednesday and then pulling off the upset over CMU Saturday handing the Chippewas their first MAC loss of the season. The wins last week allowed the Cardinals to secure a first round bye to next week's 2020 MAC Tournament quarterfinal round in Cleveland, Ohio. Ball State also wrapped up its season with a 9-0 league mark at home going undefeated in conference play in Worthen Arena for the first time since the 2008-09 season. Graduate senior Jasmin Samz reached her 1,000th career point mark on Saturday against CMU.
BOWLING GREEN
The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team hits the road for the remainder of the 2019-20 schedule, beginning with a Wednesday matchup with Miami University. The Falcons are coming off of a 96-86, double-overtime loss to Kent State at the Stroh Center on Saturday. It marked BGSU's school-record fifth OT contest of the season. On Senior Day, fourth-year Falcon Caterrion Thompson exploded for a career-high 32 points vs. the Golden Flashes, and tied a school single-game record by hitting eight three-pointers.
BUFFALO
The University at Buffalo women's basketball team looks to extend their win streak to four as they travel to Akron for a 7pm contest against the Zips on Wednesday night. The Bulls have won three straight games for the first time since the New Year as Head coach Felisha Legette-Jack picked up her 300th career win at Ohio on Saturday. Buffalo has held 10 opponents to 59 points or less this season, going a perfect 10-0 in those games.
CENTRAL MICHIGAN
The Central Michigan women's basketball team will look to bounce back from its first Mid-American Conference loss when it travels to Toledo for a MAC game with the Rockets on Wednesday at Toledo's Savage Arena.The Chippewas, 22-5, 15-1 MAC, saw their win streak end at 15 games on Saturday with a 67-62 loss at Ball State. It was CMU's first game since it had secured the outright MAC regular-season title with a win over Western Michigan last week. The Chippewas have a three-game lead over Ball State in the MAC West and in the overall MAC standings and have already wrapped up the No. 1 seed for the MAC Tournament next weekend.
EASTERN MICHIGAN
Eastern looks to make it two in-a-row after it dominated Toledo, 64-46, Feb. 29. Junior Courtnie Lewis became just the 23rd member of the EMU women's basketball 1,000-point club when she hit a triple in the third quarter of EMU's game against Toledo. She is the first Eagle to reach the milestone since Sasha Dailey did it in 2018.
KENT STATE
Kent State will host Ohio on Wednesday night at the M.A.C. Center in a matchup between Mid-American Conference East Division co-leaders. Tip for the final home women's basketball game of the regular season is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Golden Flashes won their third game in a row in thrilling fashion Saturday, overcoming an early 19-point deficit to beat Bowling Green in double-overtime, 96-86. After shooting 3-for-21 from the field in the opening quarter, Kent State went 29-for-56 the rest of the game, including 11-for-19 from beyond the three-point line. Katie Shumate scored 11 of her career-high 27 points during the overtime periods.
MIAMI
Miami hosts Bowling Green on Wednesday for senior and fan appreciation night. Miami fell to Akron inside Millett Hall on Saturday on alumnae day by a 75-62 margin as a slow second quarter for the RedHawks proved to be the difference in the game. Peyton Scott led Miami's offense with 14 points while Kluesner and Dickerson also scored in double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Miami beat BGSU by an 80-59 margin on the road as four RedHawks reached double figures on Feb. 1.
NORTHERN ILLINOIS
The Northern Illinois University women's basketball team hosts the Ball State Cardinals Wednesday night at 6 p.m. at the NIU Convocation Center in the Huskies' final regular season home game of the 2019-20 campaign. The Huskies are coming off a 63-50 loss at Western Michigan last Saturday at University Arena. Myia Starks led NIU in scoring for the second straight game, scoring 14 points with four rebounds, three steals and two assists. It was Starks' seventh double-figure scoring game in the last eight.
OHIO
The Ohio women's basketball team looks to take sole possession of third place in the Mid-American Conference when Ohio faces Kent State on the road. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the M.A.C. Center. Head coach Bob Boldon is Ohio's winningest coach in Ohio history, and is three wins away from No. 150 in his OU career. Boldon is 147-73 at OU. In MAC play, Boldon's record stands at 81-43.
TOLEDO
Toledo will close out its regular season with back-to-back home games, starting on Wednesday, March 4 with a matchup against Central Michigan. The Rockets are currently in ninth place in the overall MAC standings with only two regular-season contests remaining. The Midnight Blue & Gold is coming off a 64-46 road loss at Eastern Michigan on Saturday in the Convocation Center. The Eagles utilized a pivotal 14-2 run over the course of the final two periods to sweep the regular-season series against Toledo for the first time since 2015-16.
WESTERN MICHIGAN
The Western Michigan women's basketball team heads to Eastern Michigan's home turf for their final road game of the regular season on Wednesday. The Broncos completed a season sweep of NIU with a 63-50 win over the Huskies inside University Arena on Saturday, Feb. 29. Redshirt sophomore Jordan Walker dominated for the Brown & Gold. The guard tallied a career-high 33 points, capped off by a three-point shot in the final seconds.
