BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Justin Turner had 21 points and made a pair of free throws with 1.2 seconds left as Bowling Green edged past Toledo 85-83 on Saturday.
 
Daeqwon Plowden had 13 points and eight rebounds for Bowling Green (18-6, 9-2 Mid-American Conference), which earned its fifth straight home victory. Matiss Kulackovskis added 12 points.
 
Marreon Jackson had 31 points and six rebounds for the Rockets (11-13, 3-8), who have now lost five games in a row. Luke Knapke added 23 points. Willie Jackson had 19 points.
 
The Falcons improved to 2-0 against the Rockets this season, the first time they have beaten the Rockets multiple times in the same season since 1999. Bowling Green defeated Toledo 85-79 on Jan. 25. Bowling Green plays Akron on the road on Tuesday. Toledo matches up against Miami at home on Tuesday

AKRON, Ohio -- Tyler Cheese hit three 3-pointers and scored 21 points, Xeyrius Williams hit a go-ahead 3 with 12 seconds left in the game and Akron held off Eastern Michigan 59-58 on Saturday.
 
Eastern Michigan, which led by three points at halftime, took a 58-54 lead with 38 seconds left to play when Darion Spottsville made 1 of 2 free throws. Loren Cristian Jackson answered with a layup 13 seconds later to pull Akron (17-6, 7-3 Mid-American Conference) within two points. After Spottsville missed two foul shots, Jackson found Williams open for the game-winner.
 
Williams finished with 10 points and eight rebounds for the Zips. Akron shot just 35% from the floor and 21% from 3-point range (6 of 29). The Zips sank 17 of 21 free throws.
 
Ty Groce topped the Eagles (12-11, 2-8) with 15 points. Boubacar Toure added 14 points and 10 rebounds for his ninth double-double of the season. Spottsville finished with 13 points and six rebounds.
 
Eastern Michigan shot 50% overall but took 14 fewer shots than the Zips. The Eagles hit just 2 of 11 from distance and made only 18 of 38 foul shots (47%).

ATHENS, Ohio -- Jason Preston had a triple-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to carry Ohio to a 77-46 win over Miami on Saturday.
 
Preston also committed seven turnovers.
 
Jordan Dartis became Ohio's all-time leader in made 3-pointers, hitting his 291st career 3 on the Bobcats' first basket of the game.
 
Ben Vander Plas had 18 points for Ohio (11-12, 3-7 Mid-American Conference), which snapped its four-game losing streak. Ben Roderick added 11 points. Jordan Dartis had 11 points.
 
The RedHawks' 26.3 field goal percentage represented the worst mark by an Ohio opponent this season.
 
Miami scored 11 first-half points, a season low for the team.
 
Nike Sibande had 12 points for the RedHawks (9-14, 2-8).
 
Ohio matches up against Western Michigan at home on Tuesday. Miami (Ohio) faces Toledo on the road on Tuesday.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Brandon Johnson had a career-high 29 points as Western Michigan edged past Ball St. 68-64 on Saturday.
 
Johnson shot 12 for 14 from the floor. He added seven rebounds.
 
Titus Wright had 13 points for Western Michigan (11-12, 4-6 Mid-American Conference).
 
Luke Bumbalough had 15 points for the Cardinals (13-10, 6-4). Jarron Coleman added 14 points. Tahjai Teague had 13 points and eight rebounds.
 
Western Michigan plays Ohio on the road on Tuesday. Ball St. takes on Northern Illinois at home on Tuesday.
