Ball State:
Hudson Ties School Balance Beam Record

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Ball State's Arden Hudson's school-record beam routine was the bright spot in Ball State's meet at Western Michigan on Sunday. Hudson, a junior from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, posted a 9.900 to tie for first place and tie the Ball State school record. Hudson is the seventh gymnast in school history to score a 9.900 on beam and her routine was the eighth 9.900 score on beam ever. Baylee Bell, a 2018 alum, is the only Card to hit 9.900 on beam twice. Hudson also delivered a 9.800 on vault, tying for third place.  Full Story...

Central Michigan:
Pedrick Wins All-Around To Lead CMU
 
CEDAR CITY, Utah – Denelle Pedrick won the all-around and tied for first on vault and on floor exercise to lead the Central Michigan gymnastics team in its non-conference dual meet with Southern Utah on Friday at the Thunderbirds' America First Event Center. Southern Utah won the meet with a 197.225 team score. The Chippewas finished with 194.850. The Chippewas scored 49.125 on floor exercise, 49.100 on vault, and 48.875 on balance beam.  Full Story…
 
Eastern Michigan:
Eagles Fall Short On Senior Night
 
YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team was unable to overcome a slow start, as it fell to Northern Illinois University, Feb. 7, 196.125-194.375. The Eagles honored four seniors for their contributions to Eastern Michigan gymnastics, Ella Dover, Emili Dobronics, Xarria Lewis, and Megan Benzie. Eastern started the day on vault and was led by the duo of junior Jada Rondeau and sophomore Kara Roberts, both scoring 9.775 and tying for fifth. The pair were followed by the team captains, Dobronics and junior Cali Harden, who both scored 9.750. Freshman Hannah Hartung rounded out the scoring five, hitting 9.700. Kent State:
Golden Flashes Win Eighth Straight
 
KENT, Ohio – The Flashes picked up their eighth-straight win of the season against Cornell on Friday night in front of the home crowd in the M.A.C. Center. Freshman Olivia Amodei led the Golden Flashes on beam (9.800), vault (9.775) and bars (9.775), picking up the individual title on all three events. The freshman set a career high on beam in her career performance. Fellow freshman Rachel DeCavitch placed second on bars (9.750) and vault (9.700) and finished in third place on beam (9.725). Northern Illinois:
NIU Beats Eastern Michigan with Near-Record Score
 

YPSILANTI, Mich. – With season-high scores on all four events, the Northern Illinois University women's gymnastics came within a step or two of breaking the school scoring record in its 196.125-194.375 win over Eastern Michigan Friday in Ypsilanti. After setting the NIU record on balance beam with a 49.325 in the final event, the Huskies 196.125 total was just .025 off the all-time mark of 196.150 set at Central Michigan on March 11, 2017. NIU met its goal of going "24 for 24" with hits on each of its routines Friday, leading to the second-highest team score in school history with nine different gymnasts establishing either season or career highs on 15 different performances. Western Michigan:
Broncos Remain Unbeaten in MAC Action with Ball State Victory

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan gymnastics team capped its two-match home stand with its fifth consecutive dual match victory and fourth straight in Mid-American Conference competition by downing Ball State 195.750-193.775 inside University Arena on Sunday. The Broncos are 4-0 in MAC action for the first time since 2006, when they recorded victories against Kent State, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois and Bowling Green. WMU now owns its most MAC victories since capturing four in 2012. The 5-0 start in dual meets is the program's best since a 5-0 beginning in 2012.  Full Story...
