AKRON
The Akron women's basketball team found themselves in yet another close Mid-American Conference game Saturday afternoon at James A. Rhodes Arena and this time, they buckled down and claimed an 88-81 overtime win over the visiting Eastern Michigan Eagles. The Zips dominated the extra period with defense and a pair of three-point bombs by senior guard Alyssa Clay (Indianapolis, Ind.), who notched 17 points in the win and connected on five three-pointers for the second consecutive contest.

BALL STATE
Ball State women's basketball team took down Western Michigan, 68-65 on Saturday.  With the win, Ball State (14-7, 6-3 MAC) moves to 8-1 at home this season, including 5-0 versus league competition. Western Michigan (11-8, 4-4) saw its three-game winning streak against BSU snapped and falls to .500 in MAC games. The Cardinals are back in action next Saturday, Feb. 8, with a home game against Akron. Game time in Worthen Arena is set for 1 p.m.

BOWLING GREEN
The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team opens the road portion of the February schedule with a midweek intradivisional matchup at Kent State. Junior Angela Perry led the Falcons and tied for game honors with 23 points on Saturday (Feb. 1) against Miami. For Perry, it was her team-leading eighth game of 20 or more points this season. Fellow junior Madisen Parker leads the league – and ranks second in the nation – in three-point field-goal percentage. 

BUFFALO
The University at Buffalo women's basketball team dropped a close contest at Northern Illinois, 64-63, on Saturday. The Bulls were led by a pair of freshmen in Dyaisha Fair who scored a game-high 23 points to go with five rebounds and three assists and Elea Gaba who turned in a solid performance on her birthday as she scored 15 points to go along with five rebounds. Buffalo now has a week off before returning home to host Toledo on Saturday, February 8, at 2pm. 

CENTRAL MICHIGAN
The Central Michigan women's basketball team begins the second half of the Mid-American Conference schedule on Wednesday when it entertains Northern Illinois at McGuirk Arena. The have won 16 of their last 17 games and lead the MAC West by three games over Ball State and also hold a three-game lead in the overall league standings. Kelly leads the MAC and ranks third nationally in scoring at 22.8 points per game. Davis is 10th in the MAC at 14.5 points per game. Davis is averaging 21 points per game in her last six and has made 45 of her 78 field goal attempts (57.6 percent) over that span.

EASTERN MICHIGAN
After two games on the road, the Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team is back home for a Mid-American Conference cross-divisional matchup with Ohio. Eastern (10-10; 5-4 MAC) looks to recover after a heartbreaking overtime loss at Akron. : Redshirt sophomore guard Juanita Agosto was outstanding against Akron, Feb. 1. The Seattle native set new career-highs in points (21), field goals (8), threepointers made (2), blocks (1), and minutes played (44).

KENT STATE
Kent State will bring the first half of the Mid-American Conference schedule to a close on Wednesday night against Bowling Green in a contest scheduled for 7 p.m. inside of the M.A.C. Center. Five Golden Flashes are scoring in double-figures for the season. Freshman Nila Blackford is posting team-leading averages of 14.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Redshirt senior Megan Carter (12.8 ppg) has scored in double-digits in 10 of her past 11 contests against Division I opponents. 

MIAMI
Lauren Dickerson drained a three-pointer in the second quarter to surpass 2,000 points for her career. Dickerson joins Courtney Osborn as the only RedHawks in school history to record at least 2,000 points in a career. Dickerson finished the game with 21 points and chipped in seven assists and five rebounds as the RedHawks improve to 10-11 overall and 3-6 in Mid-American Conference play. WMU falls to 11-9 overall and 4-5 in MAC play.

NORTHERN ILLINOIS
After an exciting come-from-behind win over Buffalo last Saturday, the Northern Illinois University women's basketball team travels to Mid-American Conference leaders Central Michigan for a 6 p.m. CT tip-off Wednesday night. NIU erased a 14-point second quarter deficit last Saturday to defeat the Buffalo Bulls 64-63 at the NIU Convocation Center. NIU scored the final five points of the game, with Ally May's (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) layup with 4.9 seconds to go giving the Huskies their fourth win over Buffalo in the last five meetings. Woods' 15 points put her at 1,998 for her career, two points away from 2,000.

OHIO
The Ohio women's basketball team (13-6, 6-2 MAC) earned its fourth-straight win after defeating Akron (9-10, 2-6 MAC), 70-57, on Wednesday evening at the Convocation Center. Senior guard Amani Burke (Columbus, Ohio) led the way with 20 points on 6-of-14 shooting. Burke hit two threes and was 6-of-7 from the free-throw line. She added six rebounds, two steals and an assist. Junior guard Cece Hooks (Dayton, Ohio) had 17 points while adding nine rebounds and a season-high seven steals.

TOLEDO
Toledo will continue its three-game stretch against Mid-American Conference East Division opponents on Wednesday, Feb. 5 when it travels to Miami. The Rockets are a perfect 4-0 vs. MAC East Division foes so far this year and 65-31 (.677) over the last 11-plus seasons under Head Coach Tricia Cullop. The Midnight Blue & Gold is coming off a 69-60 home victory Kent State on Saturday before 4,115 fans in Savage Arena. Toledo posted a decisive 22-11 scoring advantage in the third period. 

WESTERN MICHIGAN
After two straight losses, the Broncos were back in mid-season form against Akron, moving to 11-7 overall and 4-3 in conference The Western Michigan women's basketball team earned a season sweep over Akron with a 79-71 win over the Zips on Saturday. The Broncos travel to Ball State on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
