YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Boubacar Toure scored 13 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and had a career-high five blocked shots and Eastern Michigan closed the game with a 16-2 run to defeat 67-63 Central Michigan on Saturday.
Yeikson Montero added 17 points for Eastern Michigan (16-13, 6-10 Mid-American Conference) and Ty Groce 14.
Dallas Morgan had 16 points for the Chippewas (13-16, 6-10 MAC), whose losing streak stretched to eight games. David DiLeo added 14 points and Kevin McKay 11 and Rob Montgomery had a career-high 16 rebounds.
Morgan's 3-pointer at the 5:15 mark had Central Michigan on top 61-51 but from there the Chippewas missed their last five shots and had three turnovers.
Montero had back-to-back 3-pointers and Boubacar's dunk and 3-point play with 1:10 to play put the Eagles on top 63-61.
Montgomery made two free throws with just under a minute to go tied the game but Boubacar made two free throws at 44 seconds to put EMU back on top.
Eastern Michigan defeated Central Michigan 73-70 on Feb. 11. Eastern Michigan faces Western Michigan on the road on Tuesday. Central Michigan plays Ball State on the road on Tuesday.
Akron 86, Buffalo 73

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Loren Cristian Jackson matched his career high with 35 points, Xeyrius Williams posted a double-double and Akron beat Buffalo 86-73 on Saturday.
Xeyrius Williams scored 14 points with 13 rebounds and Channel Banks had 14 points and nine rebounds for Akron (22-7, 12-4 Mid-American Conference).
Jeenathan Williams had 18 points and nine rebounds for Buffalo (18-11, 9-7), Antwain Johnson scored 12 points and Jayvon Graves had 11 points and three blocks.
Buffalo led 38-37 at halftime and the game remained close until the last six minutes. Cristian Jackson broke a tie at 69 with a pair of free throws and Akron wrapped it up using a 17-4 run.
Toledo 69, Ball State 63

TOLEDO, Ohio -- Luke Knapke scored 31 points as Toledo held off Ball State 69-63 on Saturday for its third straight win.
Marreon Jackson added 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Toledo (15-14, 7-9 Mid-American Conference). Willie Jackson added 12 rebounds.
Jarron Coleman had 18 points and six rebounds for the Cardinals (16-13, 9-7). Ishmael El-Amin added 10 points. Kyle Mallers had eight rebounds.
The Rockets evened the season series against the Cardinals with the win. Ball State defeated Toledo 61-57 on Jan. 3. Toledo faces Northern Illinois on the road on Tuesday. Ball State takes on Central Michigan at home on Tuesday.
Miami 73, Bowling Green 55

OXFORD, Ohio -- Nike Sibande scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and sixth-place Miami beat first-place Bowling Green 73-55 on Saturday in Mid-American Conference play.
Elijah McNamara and Dae Dae Grant scored 10 points apiece for the RedHawks (12-17, 5-11), who outrebounded the Falcons 40-29 and held them to 38% shooting from the field (18 of 49). Dalonte Brown had eight rebounds.
Bowling Green scored 19 points in the second half, a season low for the team.
Daeqwon Plowden scored a career-high 26 points on 7-of-11 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds for Bowling Green (21-8, 12-4), which saw its three-game win streak end.
Justin Turner, whose 19.0 points per game heading into the contest led the Falcons, was held to four points on 1-of-11 shooting.
The RedHawks evened the season series against the Falcons with the win. Bowling Green defeated Miami 78-76 on Jan. 7. Miami plays Buffalo on the road on Tuesday. Bowling Green faces Kent State on the road on Tuesday.
Western Michigan 72, Northern Illinois 69

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Brandon Johnson and Michael Flowers scored 20 points apiece and Jared Printy buried a 3-pointer with 5 seconds remaining to send Western Michigan past Northern Illinois 72-69 on Saturday.
Johnson sank 7 of 11 shots from the floor, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range, and added seven rebounds for the Broncos (12-17, 5-11 Mid-American Conference), who snapped a five-game skid. Flowers buried 8 of 13 shots, including 4 of 5 from distance.
Eugene German came off the bench to score 23 to pace the Huskies (17-12, 10-6), who entered the day in first place in the West Division. Lacey James contributed 11 points, seven rebounds and four blocks. Darius Beane finished with 11 points and six boards.
The Broncos led 32-24 at halftime, but Northern Illinois battled back to knot the score at 69 on German's layup with 33 seconds left. Printy followed with his go-ahead 3 before German misfired from beyond the arc with a chance to tie.
Western Michigan shot 54% from the floor and 63% from beyond the arc (12 of 19). The Broncos hit 8 of 13 foul shots. Northern Illinois shot 48% overall but just 33% from distance (6 of 18) and 50% at the free-throw line (10 of 20).
The two teams split the season series. Northern Illinois won the first meeting 58-52.
