Day 3 Results


BUFFALO, New York –With three days complete at the 2020 MAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship, Akron continues to lead the field with a total of 524 points. Buffalo took over second place with 450 points, followed by Eastern Michigan with 312. 

Akron took the first individual award of the evening with Paulina Nogaj's 52.42 performance in the 100-yard butterfly.

The 400-yard IM title is staying at UB, as Brittney Beetcher clocked a 4:14.40 to win gold.

Miami's Camila Lins de Mello defended her title in the 200-yard freestyle. The sophomore recorded a time of 1:45.96.

Paula Garcia became Akron's first MAC champion iin the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.32.

Bowling Green sophomore Daisy Platts took the gold in the 100-yard backstroke, tapping in 52.87. 

In the final event of the evening, the 400 Medley Relay team of Weronika Gorecka, Paula Garcia, Paulina Nogaj, and Morgan Waggoner claimed first place with a time of 3:35.13, keeping Akron undefeated in the relay events.

The final day of the Championships will start tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. with preliminaries. Finals are scheduled for 6:40 p.m. and will be streamed on YouTube
 
In addition, the following awards will be given out tomorrow: Most Outstanding Senior Swimmer, All-MAC 1st & 2nd Team, MAC Freshman Diver of the Year, MAC Freshman Swimmer of the Year, MAC Most Outstanding Diver, MAC Most Outstanding Swimmer, MAC Diving Coach of the Year, MAC Swimming Coach of the Year and MAC Champion.
