NIU's Mattas Named Men's Golfer of the Week

Mattas had his best tournament as a Huskie at the Loyola Intercollegiate Feb. 22-24 at Palm Valley Golf Club. The senior posted his best 18-hole and 54-hole scores to tie for fourth with a nine-under par 207. Mattas was under par in all three rounds, capping the week with a career-best six-under 66 with no bogeys.

Border Olympics // T-20th

Vie proved to be the top Falcon again for the squad and has now been the highest finisher for the team in all but one tournament.  Vie finished T-20th after shooting a total score of 219 tying with Nick Hofland with 37 pars to lead the Orange and Brown in that department.  Vie was also the lone Falcon to record an eagle over the two days.

Sudinsky earned his fifth career top-10 showing  in a tie for sixth with a 210 (74-66-70). The McKinney, Texas native posted both the lowest 18 (66) and 54 (210) hole scores of his career. He now has 19 rounds of par-or-better in his career. The Valley of the Sun has treated the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team well over the years, and Monday's final round the Loyola Intercollegiate did not stray from that tradition. Head Coach Bruce Cunningham's crew notched a 277, the seventh-lowest 18-hole score in program history, on the final day of competition on the par 72, 7,015-yard Palm Valley Golf Club. Eastern finished the three-day event with a tally of 850 (292-281-277) in second-place, just one stroke behind Drake's  849 (286-282-281). Overall, EMU's cumulative 54-hole total is tied for sixth-lowest in school-history.

Paltrinieri led the Flashes this weekend at the Seminole Intercollegiate with a career-best performance. Paltrinieri finished the tournament tied for seventh with a 216 (E) score. In the opening day, the sophomore fired rounds of 74 (+2) and 72 (E). In his final round, Paltrinieri went 16 holes for par or better with the help of four birdies. His performance helped the Flashes beat out two teams ranked inside the Top-50.
 
Rasmus Broholt Lind, Toledo, Senior

Border Olympics // 15th       

Broholt Lind tied for 15th place to lead the Rockets to a 10th-place finish at the Border Olympics. Lind finished the tournament at two-over par 218 and shot a two-under par 70 and even-par 72 during the event. Lind helped Toledo finish the tournament first in par-3 scoring (+5) by tying for first place in entire field at two-under par on par-3 holes. He also was four-under par on par-5 holes and collected 12 birdies during the event.
