Akron Maintains Top Spot at Swim & Dive Championships

Day 2 Results
BUFFALO, New York – After two days of action at the 2020 MAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, the Akron Zips continue to lead the field with a total of 295 points.
In the first event of the evening, Eastern Michigan's Alyssa Shugarman claimed the gold with a 4:44.51 in the 500-yard freestyle.
Akron's Sarah Watson defended her title in the 200-yard IM, tapping in 1:57.65.
Toni Naccarella successfully defended home turf in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking a 22:48 to give Buffalo their first individual champion of the weekend.
In the diving well, Bowling Green's Talisa Lemke captured her third-straight 1-meter diving title with a score of 327.42.
The final honors of the night went to Akron's 200-yard freestyle reelay team of Paulina Nogaj, Morgan Waggoner, Sarah Watson, and Soofia Henell. The quad posted a time of 1:29.39, giving the Zips their consecutive title in the event.

Finals will follow at 6:30 p.m. beginninig with the 100-yard butterfly.
