MAC Gymnastics:  Gymnast of the Week
Denelle Pedrick, Central Michigan, Senior
Senior Denelle Pedrick had three first finishes in the meet at Kent State. She took first in the all-around (39.400) and tied for first on vault (9.825) and bars (9.900). Pedrick also took second on floor (9.850) and fourth on beam (9.825). Her score of 9.900 on bars matches a career-high.

MAC Gymnastics:  Specialist of the Week
Claudia Goyco, Ball State, Junior
Junior Claudia Goyco continued her strong team-leading floor routine in two meets last week, helping the Cardinals set a school record in the process. On Friday at No. 11 Georgia, she tied for 3rd of 18 gymnasts on floor with a 9.875 score.  On Sunday, her 9.990 floor was good for 1st place and helped Ball State to a school-record team score of 195.750 in a win over Eastern Michigan.

Arden Hudson, Ball State, Junior
Junior Arden Hudson’s steady performances in three routines in each of Ball State’s meets helped the Cardinals to a school record and a pair of head-to-head wins. She tied her career high with a 9.850 on vault on Friday at Georgia and followed that with a 9.850 on beam as well. On Sunday, her pair of 9.800 scores helped BSU achieve a school-record mark of 195.750 in a win over Eastern Michigan.

Jovannah East, Bowling Green, Senior
Senior Jovannah East led the Falcons with a 39.225 all-around score as Bowling Green defeated both Temple and Illinois State Saturday. East won the balance beam and the floor exercise, placing third in the all-around. As the last competitor in the meet, East needed at least a 9.700 for the Falcons to defeat Illinois State and earn the sweep. She posted a 9.875 to clinch the win.

Kara Roberts, Eastern Michigan, Sophomore
Sophomore Kara Roberts competed in two meets this weekend as a part of the Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team; Friday, Feb. 14 at the Georgia Triangular against host-Georgia and Ball State and Sunday, Feb. 16 at BSU. In Athens, Ga., on the big stage, Roberts did not falter, putting up career-highs on two of her three events. On vault she earned a 9.825 for a personal-best and on floor she hit a 9.850, those were good for seventh and eighth place, respectively. The sophomore also added a 9.750 on bars, tying for sixth. Two days later in Muncie, Ind., Roberts scored a 9.750 on vault and a 9.700 on bars, tying for fifth and eighth place, respectively. The Pinckney, Mich. native capped off her weekend with another 9.850 on floor to tie for third.

Rachel DeCavitch, Kent State, Freshman
Kent State freshman Rachel DeCavitch posted another solid all-around score (39.125) to help lead the Golden Flashes to their ninth-straight win and first win over MAC-rival Central Michigan since the 2016 season. She tied her career-high 9.875 on beam and won the individual beam title. She also finished third on bars with a 9.850.

Morgan Spence, Western Michigan, Junior
Junior Morgan Spence helped Western Michigan to its fifth team score of 194.800 or higher on Friday with a 194.850 score at No. 23 Illinois. Spence had her highest all-around score of the season and claimed second with a 38.675. Spence began the day with a 9.625 on vault to take 10th. The Raleigh, N.C., native followed with a 9.700 on bars to tie for ninth. Moving to the beam, she posted a 9.600 to take ninth again. Spence completed the day on the floor with a 9.750 to finish 10th.

Additional MAC Specialist of the Week Nominees:
Alex Fochler, Bowling Green, Junior

Junior Alex Fochler competed on bars and floor, helping the Falcons to a season-best 194.550 and wins over Temple and Illinois State Saturday. Fochler placed second on bars with a 9.850, marking the fourth consecutive meet in which she has earned a top three spot on the event. She was just .025 from tying her personal best on bars. Fochler added a career-best 9.750 on floor for the Falcons as well.

Hannah Demers, Central Michigan, Freshman
Freshman Hannah Demers placed first on the bars with the score of 9.900 against Kent State. The 9.900 on bars matches her career-high.

Caitlin Satler, Eastern Michigan, Sophomore
Sophomore Caitlin Satler competed in two meets this weekend as a part of the Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team; Friday, Feb. 14 at the Georgia Triangular against host-Georgia and Ball State and Sunday, Feb. 16 at BSU. In the first meet, Satler earned a 9.800 on beam to lead the Eagles in the event and tied for sixth. On floor she posted a 9.825 to tie for ninth. On Sunday against the Cardinals, the sophomore tied for first on beam, with two teammates, hitting 9.825. The Orland Park, Ill. native also added a 9.850 on floor to tie for third.

Kendra Lindway, Kent State, Sophomore
Sophomore Kendra Lindway got her first action of the 2020 season and stepped up in a big way for the Golden Flashes, leading the team to a pivotal victory over MAC-rival Central Michigan. She led off on vault and posted a career-high and team-high 9.825. She won her first career individual competition and helped Kent State post their second-highest vault score of the season.

Amelia Mohler, Western Michigan, Senior
Senior Amelia Mohler helped Western Michigan to its fifth team score of 194.800 or higher on Friday with a 194.850 score at No. 23 Illinois. Mohler began her day on bars with a 9.900, good for her highest score of the season and tied for the fifth-highest score in program history. She tied Karen Howell of Illinois for first during the event. Mohler followed with a 9.575 on beam to claim 10th.
