Zips Fall To West Virginia
AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women’s tennis team battled undefeated West Virginia (6-0 overall) to a 5-2 loss on Sunday at the LaTuchie Tennis Center in Stow. The Zips (1-5 overall) claimed the doubles point, winning all three matches. At the No. 1, senior Rita Pedroso(Porto, Portugal) and junior Miruna Vasilescu (Ulm, Germany) defeated Anne-Sophie Courteau and Kat Lyman, 6-4.

Akron Tennis Gets First Win With 7-0 Sweep of Seton Hall
AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's tennis team recorded its first win of the season with a 7-0 sweep of Seton Hall on Friday at the LaTuchie Tennis Center in Stow. The Zips, 1-4 overall, claimed the doubles point. At the No. 1, junior Miruna Vasilescu and senior Rita Pedroso defeated Minja Gligic and Hiba El Khalifi, 6-2. The No. 3 doubles team won by default as Seton Hall, 1-4 overall, did not field a doubles team.

Cardinals Sweep Oakland
MUNCIE, Ind. - It was a busy weekend for the Ball State women's tennis team, as the Cardinals competed in three-straight matches, one on the road and two at home. The Cardinals (6-1) closed the weekend with a 7-0 sweep over Oakland University (3-2) Sunday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. The Cardinals cruised past Oakland in doubles action, winning on all three courts. Amy Kaplanalongside her doubles partner Victoria Sec eased their way into a 6-1 victory over the grizzlies Darya Maltseva and Alexandra Whall at the No. 2 doubles position.

Women's Tennis Defeats Findlay At Home, 6-1
MUNCIE, Ind. - The Cardinals are playing three matches in three days but it doesn't seem to phase them. Ball State won again today, posting a 6-1 defeat over Findlay Saturday afternoon at the Muncie Northwest YMCA. With the win, Ball State improves to 5-1 on the season while the Oilers fall to 2-3 overall. Ball State took the early 1-0 advantage over Findlay after registering doubles victories on courts three and one, respectively.

Women’s Tennis Record 6-1 Victory Over Northern Iowa
KALAMAZOO, Mich. - At the West Hills Athletic Club on the campus of Western Michigan, the Cardinals won their neutral site game Friday afternoon after registering a 6-1 victory over Northern Iowa. The Cardinals took all three doubles courts from the Panthers, opening the match on a high note. First off the court was the No. 3 duo of Jessica Braunand Rebecca Herrington, the twosome did not give up a game in their 6-0 defeat over Northern Iowa's Olivia Fain and Thaissa Moreira.

Bowling Green:
Bowling Green Falls At Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bowling Green State University tennis program came up short against the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday (Feb. 15) by a score of 6-1. Bowling Green put up a fight, taking one of the doubles matches before claiming a singles point as well. The loss moves the Falcons to 2-2 on the season thus far. The Orange and Brown will return home for their next match, facing Saint Francis next Friday (Feb. 21) with a 1 p.m. first serve at Perrysburg Tennis Center.

Bulls Defeat Cleveland State, 6-1
WILLIAMSVILLE, NY - The University at Buffalo women's tennis team improved to 6-1 on the season Friday afternoon with a 6-1 victory over Cleveland State. Prior to the match, head coach Kristen Maines was honored for her 100th career victory, which she picked up last weekend at Youngstown State. The doubles contest was close through out as both teams looked to take an early lead. After CSU won at first doubles, the reigning MAC Doubles Team of the Week in Gabriella Akopyan and Ambre Amat won at third doubles, 6-3.

RedHawks Down Dayton 6-1 on Saturday
MIAMISBURG, Ohio - The Miami RedHawks won their second-straight match over a local opponent Saturday when they rolled through the host Dayton Flyers by a score of 6-1. The RedHawks improve to an even 3-3 after Saturday's win. Miami swept all three of the doubles matches on the day. Brindtha Ramasamy and Laura Rico continued their winning streak with a 6-2 win against Dayton's top doubles team, while the duos of Milana Lysova and Priyana Kalita along with Melati Devi and Makenzie Myers each took 6-3 victories to earn the match's opening point for Miami.

Huskie Women’s Tennis Team Splits Sunday Double Dip
CHICAGO – The NIU women's team split a doubleheader against St. Francis (Ill.) and DePaul University Sunday. The Huskies travelled to Challenge Fitness in Lockport, to face off against the St. Francis Fighting Saints where they earned a 7-0 victory. NIU jumped off to a strong start with Christy Robinson and Mary Ellen Green taking a 6-0 victory at No. 2 doubles over Nikkie Christiansen and Michelle Robert. Maria Potsi and Lara Slisko clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles over Denisse Lizano and Maria Kuzminskaya.

NIU Women’s Tennis Defeats Chicago State
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's team improved to 6-3 on the season with a 5-2 win against Chicago State University at the Boylan Tennis Center Friday. Maria Potsi and Lara Slisko won at No. 1 doubles with a score of 6-3, while Brodie Walker and Paula Veyhle clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Western Michigan:
Women's Tennis Victorious in Home Match Versus Northern Iowa
KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan women's tennis team won its second consecutive match on Saturday morning, shutting out Northern Iowa at the West Hills Athletic Club. At No. 1 doubles, sophomore Femke Tjon-A-Joe and junior Jeryn Jack teamed up to defeat Emma Carr and Kim Zizek 6-0. Freshman Lindsey Zieglar and sophomore Taylor Smith were victorious at No. 3 doubles, giving their team the 1-0 advantage in the process. It was the first doubles match for Smith during the 2020 dual season.
