Cardinals Set School Record
MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State gymnastics team turned in a historic performance Sunday, recording a school-record 195.750 team score in a win over Eastern Michigan at Worthen Arena. Never shying from a degree of difficulty, the Cardinals achieved the new record just hours after competing at Georgia on Friday night. With Ball State competing in front of an electric crowd on the back end of a Friday-Sunday competition weekend, Lauren Volpe landed a career-best 9.825 score on balance beam. A beautiful routine, just 40 hours after she'd faltered on beam at Georgia. When she finished her routine, Saleem pointed to her arm. She was showing Volpe that she had goosebumps.

Confidence Check For The Gym Cards At Georgia
ATHENS, Georgia - Weeks with two meets are always a challenge in college gymnastics, and heading into Sunday's home meet Ball State has showed its up to the task. A nice showing in the environment at Georgia, capped off with a conference win, is a confidence boost for the Cardinals. Ball State turned in 14 routines of 9.750 or better and edged Eastern Michigan in scoring Friday night and will have a quick turnaround before competing in Worthen Arena Sunday afternoon.

Falcons Defeat Temple, Illinois State Behind Season-Best Performance
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team scored a season-best 194.550 and narrowly defeated both Illinois State (194.350) and Temple (193.550) Saturday in a three-way meet at Anderson Arena. The Falcons improved to 5-5 on the season, while Illinois State moves to 4-6 and Temple falls to 5-6. Bowling Green posted nine personal bests among the team's 24 rotations and added five more season best scores. Jovannah East won both the balance beam and floor exercise, but the Falcons were balanced, scoring at least 48.400 on all four rotations.

Chippewas Rally, Before Falling Just Short In MAC Dual
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan gymnastics team made a strong charge after falling into a deep deficit before eventually falling by a narrow margin to Kent State on Sunday in a MAC dual at McGuirk Arena. The Golden Flashes finished with a 195.175 team score, while the Chippewas finished with 195.075 in their first home meet of the season. The scoreboard showed the teams tied after the final rotation, however Kent State filed an inquiry and it was ruled that a KSU gymnast's start value was too low. The increase in the start value lifted the Golden Flashes to the victory.

Eagles Fall to Ball State on the Road
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Eastern Michigan University gymnastic team could not compete the comeback against Ball State University Sunday, Feb. 16, falling to the Cardinals, 195.750-195.450. The Green and White saw three gymnasts earn personal-bests in the Mid-American Conference meet. EMU started on bars, and was led by Jada Rondeau, who tied her career-high of 9.850 and claimed first-place in the event. Freshman Arileyah Harris and junior Cortney Bezold, both scored 9.800, a career-high for the freshman, as they both tied for fourth. Freshman Hannah Hartung and sophomore Kara Roberts both chipped in scores of 9.700. The Eagles went into rotation two trialing Ball State, 48.950-48.850.

Eagles Finish Third at Georgia Triangular
ATHENS, Ga. – The Eastern Michigan gymnastics team competed in a triangular at the University of Georgia against host-Georgia and Ball State University Friday, Feb. 14. The Eagles finished in third-place, scoring 194.700 overall and were slightly edged by BSU's score of 194.725. The Bulldogs claimed first with an overall score of 197.075. Eastern started the night on bars and was led by junior Jada Rondeau, who tied her career-high of 9.850, earning a second-place finish. The junior was followed by sophomore Kara Roberts, scoring 9.750, tying for sixth. Junior Cortney Bezold added a score of 9.725 and tying for eight, but the Eagles finished the first rotation in third place, behind Georgia (49.300) and Ball State (48.800).

Flashes Knock Off Chippewas in MAC Showdown
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Kent State gymnastics team earned a hard-fought 195.175-195.075 victory over Mid-American Conference rival Central Michigan inside McGuirk Arena. The Golden Flashes won their ninth-consecutive matchup and have not lost in over a month. They improved to 9-1 overall and 1-1 in the MAC. Freshman Rachel DeCavitch helped the Flashes jump out to an early lead on bars with a third-place finish (9.850). Senior Jade Brown finished in fourth place with a 9.825, while fellow senior Sammi Nero scored a 9.775 in her first action of the season.

No. 23 Illinois Downs Western Michigan Gymnastics
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Western Michigan gymnastics team suffered its first dual meet setback of the campaign Friday as No. 23 Illinois posted its highest score of the season in a 195.900-194.850 triumph inside Huff Hall. The team score for the Broncos marked their fifth time this season higher than 194.800. WMU had its best showing of the year on bars with a 48.975, the program's highest mark on the event since the same score at the 2019 MAC Championship. Senior Amelia Mohler scored a 9.900, tied for the fifth-highest mark in program history, while junior Alexis Olivier set her career high in the event with a 9.875.
