AKRON, Ohio -- Loren Cristian Jackson scored 28 and Akron beat Mid-American Conference leading Bowling Green 74-59 on Tuesday night.
Tyler Cheese had 17 points and made 9 of 10 free throws for the Zips (18-6, 8-3), who entered a game behind the Falcons in conference standings. Xeyrius Williams grabbed 10 rebounds and Channel Banks scored nine points.
Daeqwon Plowden scored 18 points with 10 rebounds for his eighth double-double of the season for Bowling Green (18-7, 9-3), which lost its second straight. Justin Turner added 12 points.
Akron matches up against Central Michigan on the road on Friday. Bowling Green takes on Ball St. on the road on Saturday.
Toledo 65, Miami 57

TOLEDO, Ohio -- Marreon Jackson had 24 points and 10 rebounds as Toledo beat Miami 65-57 on Tuesday night.
Willie Jackson had 11 points and 16 rebounds for Toledo (12-13, 4-8 Mid-American Conference), which ended its five-game losing streak. Keshaun Saunders added 10 points and six rebounds.
Miami totaled 25 points in the second half, a season low for the team.
Mekhi Lairy had 14 points for the RedHawks (9-15, 2-9), who have lost four straight games. Nike Sibande added 11 points. Isaiah Coleman-Lands had six rebounds.
Dalonte Brown, the RedHawks' second leading scorer entering the matchup at 11 points per game, scored only 5 points on 2-of-10 shooting.

El-Amin hit 4 of 6 3-pointers.
Kyle Mallers and Tahjai Teague each added 12 points for Ball St. (14-10, 7-4 Mid-American Conference), which earned its sixth consecutive home victory. Brachen Hazen had nine rebounds.
Eugene German had 18 points and seven rebounds for the Huskies (15-10, 8-4), whose six-game winning streak came to an end. Tyler Cochran added 10 points and seven rebounds. Zaire Mateen had 10 points.
Ball State matches up against Bowling Green at home on Saturday. Northern Illinois plays Miami on the road on Saturday.
Eastern Michigan 73, Central Michigan 70

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball program earned its third win in the last four Mid-American Conference games, downing in-state rival Central Michigan, 73-70, Tuesday, Feb. 11 inside CMU's McGuirk Arena. The victory is the Eagles' (13-11; 3-8 MAC) first road MAC win of the season.
The Chippewas (13-10; 6-4 MAC) cut the Eagles' lead to two (71-69) with 8 ticks left in the game, but redshirt junior Ty Groce and classmate Noah Morgan split a pair of free throws each to seal the 73-70 victory.
Groce posted his first career double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds to go along with three assists in 38 minutes. Redshirt senior Boubacar Toure also earned a double-double with 20 points on 9-of-10 shooting and 13 rebounds, while junior Thomas Binelli added 15 points and tied a career-high with five three-pointers. Morgan finished the evening with 14 points and went 7-of-8 from the charity stripe.
Ohio 73, Western Michigan 61

Ben Vander Plas had 19 points and nine rebounds for Ohio (12-12, 4-7 Mid-American Conference). Jordan Dartis added 15 points and six steals.
Michael Flowers had 21 points for the Broncos (11-13, 4-7). Rafael Cruz Jr. added 10 points.
The Bobcats evened the season series against the Broncos with the win. Western Michigan defeated Ohio 77-65 on Jan. 4. Ohio plays Kent State on the road on Saturday. Western Michigan plays Eastern Michigan on the road on Saturday.
