Duda Sales, Toledo
Senior - Santo Andres, Brazil/Colegio Avanco

Sales started the meet off on a high note, helping her 200 medley relay team to a second-place finish off the blocks. The relay team of Ashley Jeffreys, Bec Welke, Sales, and Lovell clocked a season-best 1:44.22 in the event, finishing less than a second off Buffalo's A-team. Sales' success continued later on in the meet, as she touched the wall in 2:02.90 in the 200 butterfly for first place. Sales' time is the seventh-fastest time in program history and is less than a second off the fourth-fastest time in program history. With the taste of success of her tongue, Sales' suited up in her tech suit for her final individual event of the meet, and her strongest event in her career – the 100 butterfly. It was no contest for the Santo Andres, Brazil native, as she touched the wall in a pool record 54.33 for first place, nearly three seconds ahead of Ellie Duley from Buffalo.

Paula Garcia, Akron
Junior - Madrid, Spain/Sagrada Familia HS

Paula Garcia did a great job for the Zips in the recent Shamrock Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame. She raced against some of the nation’s best, including host Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Iowa. In the end, she was able to finish first in the 200 Breast, while finishing second in the 200 Breast, 200 Medley Relay and 400 Medley Relay.

Emma Fortman, Ohio
Freshman - Maderia, Ohio/Maderia

Freshman Emma Fortman helped lead the Ohio swimming & diving team (1-5, 1-3 MAC) to a 188.5-110.5 victory over Mid-American Conference foe Ball State last Saturday (Jan. 25) at the Ohio University Aquatic Center in Athens, Ohio. Fortman earned a pair of individual event victories and was the first leg of both winning relay teams that played a crucial role in the Bobcats' win. The freshman's first victory came during the 100-yard backstroke (57.57) followed by her second win of the day in the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.43). She was also a member of Ohio’s ‘A’ relay teams that bookended the Bobcats’ victory over the Cardinals with victories in the 200-yard medley relay (1:46.47) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:33.96).

Nicole Roitenberg, Buffalo
Junior - Beaconsfield, Montreal, Canada/Alexander Von Humboldt

Junior swimmer Nicole Roitenberg had a day against Toledo as she won two individual events and was part of the winning 200 medley relay team. Roitenberg won the 100 and 200 back. She finished the 100 back in 55.55 while completing the 200 back with her season-best time of 2:00.72. The squad finished the 200 medley relay in 1:43.87.

Hannah White, Eastern Michigan
Freshman - Carmel, Indiana/Carmel

White picked up two wins for Eastern Michigan in its win over conference foe Bowling Green. The freshman posted her first sweep of the butterfly events of her collegiate career, while also logging her season-best time in the 200 event.
