AKRON, Ohio -- Marreon Jackson hit seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 36 points, Willie Jackson added a double-double and Toledo ended Akron's 12-game home winning streak with a 99-89 victory on Saturday.

Willie Jackson scored a career-high 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Luke Knapke added 19 points for the Rockets (10-8, 2/3 Mid-American Conference), who went 15 of 26 from 3-point range (57.7%). It was a season-high for makes and percent and led to 56.7% shooting overall. They also were 16 of 18 from the foul line.

Loren Cristian Jackson drilled seven 3-pointers and scored 33 points, both career highs, for the Zips (14-4, 4-1), who had their five-game winning streak end despite hitting 13 3-pointers and shooting 51%. Tyler Cheese added 19 points and tied his career-high with seven assists and Xeyrius Williams netted 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Akron was was only giving up 62.5 points a game this season and had now allowed more than 79 at home in going 10-0 to start the season. The Zips won their first four league games by an average of 19.3.

A late 19-5 run helped the Rockets lead 46-36 at the half. They shot 65%. Akron recovered with a 16-2 run to open the second half and kept the lead until Marreon Jackson scored 11 straight. Jackson had a layup and three straight 3-pointers for a 75-68 Toledo lead with 8:13 to play. After adding two free throws he had a run 16-straight points for the Rockets.
 
Western Michigan 67, Kent State 63

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Michael Flowers scored 18 points and Western Michigan rallied to defeat Kent State 67-63 on Saturday.

Brandon Johnson had 12 points and eight rebounds for Western Michigan (9-9, 2/3 Mid-American Conference). Rafael Cruz Jr. added 11 points and B. Artis White had 10 points.

The Broncos trailed by double digits with 9 minutes, 36 seconds to go but closed the game with a 24-10 run. Johnson's layup gave Western Michigan a 63-62 lead with one minute to go. Flowers made two free throws with 22 seconds left and Johnson capped the victory, making two from the line with five seconds left.

Western Michigan led 30-25 at halftime but quickly fell behind in the second half. Kent State went up by 10 on a layup by Danny Pippen with 11:43 to go and a jumper from Antonio Williams gave them another 10-point lead at 9:36.

Anthony Roberts had 19 points for the Golden Flashes (13-5, 3-2). Williams added 15 points and six rebounds. Troy Simons had 12 points.

Western Michigan plays at Buffalo on Tuesday. Kent State plays Northern Illinois at home on Tuesday.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Daeqwon Plowden tallied 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead Bowling Green to a 66-64 win over Northern Illinois on Saturday.

Dylan Frye had 14 points for Bowling Green (13-5, 4-1 Mid-American Conference), which won its fourth straight game. Tayler Mattos added 11 points.

Justin Turner, the Falcons' leading scorer entering the contest at 18 points per game, was held to only 5 points on 1-of-12 shooting.

Eugene German had 19 points for the Huskies (9-9, 2-3). Trendon Hankerson added 13 points. Noah McCarty had 10 points and eight rebounds.

Bowling Green takes on Eastern Michigan at home on Tuesday. Northern Illinois takes on Kent State on the road on Tuesday.
 
Ohio 60, Eastern Michigan 58

YPSILANTI, Mich -- Ben Vander Plas scored 22 points with 11 rebounds and Ohio beat Eastern Michigan 60-58 on Saturday.

Jason Preston had 14 points and eight rebounds for Ohio (10-8, 2/3 Mid-American Conference). Preston distributed seven assists though committed eight turnovers. Jordan Dartis scored 11 points while Sylvester Ogbonda collared 14 rebounds.

Noah Morgan scored a career-high 23 points for the Eagles (10-8, 0-5), who have now lost five games in a row. Ty Groce added 17 points and Jalen King grabbed 10 boards.

The Bobcats improvde to 2-0 against the Eagles on the season. Ohio defeated Eastern Michigan 74-68 on Jan. 7.

Ohio matches up against Toledo at home on Tuesday. Eastern Michigan plays Bowling Green on the road on Tuesday.
 
Buffalo 86, Central Michigan 67

Mount Pleasant, Mich. -- Jeenathan Williams scored 18 points to lead five Buffalo players in double figures and the Bulls won their third straight, 86-67 over Central Michigan on Saturday.

Jayvon Graves scored 14 points and had four steals and Davonta Jordan added 13 points and seven rebounds for Buffalo (12-6, 3-2 Mid-American Conference), which held the Chippewas to 30% shooting in the first half and led 38-30 at halftime.

Antwain Johnson scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Ronaldo Segu added 10 points off the bench.

David Dileo led Central Michigan (10-8, 3-2) with 17 points and nine rebounds. Travon Broadway Jr. and Deschon Winston scored 11 points apiece.

Buffalo (12-6, 3-2) faces Western Michigan at home on Tuesday. Central Michigan faces Ball St. at home next Saturday.
 
Ball State 71, Miami 62

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Tahjai Teague scored 14 points to lead four Ball State players in double figures as the Cardinals topped Miami (Ohio) 71-62 on Saturday.

Luke Bumbalough and Ishmael El-Amin scored 13 points apiece and Kyle Mallers added 10 points as Ball State (11-7, 4-1 Mid-American Conference), won its fourth consecutive home game.

Nike Sibande had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the RedHawks (8-10, 1-4). Dae Dae Grant added 11 points.

Ball State closed the game on a 5-0 run after Sibande's 3-pointer with 2 minutes, 34 seconds remaining drew Miami within four points at 66-62. Kani Acree scored in the paint at 2:09, Teague dunked at :34 and Bumbalough made one of two free throws with 15 seconds to go to close out the scoring.

Miami plays Akron at home on Tuesday. Ball State plays at Central Michigan on Jan. 25.
