Jillian Lawton, Buffalo

Jillian Lawton had a stellar weekend in the pool as the University at Buffalo swimming team traveled to Penn State for the first ever dual meet between the programs. Lawton went on to win two events and was a member of two winning relays. She won the 50 free in a time of 23.63 and in the 100 free, she finished in a time of 51.58. She was also a member of the winning 200 and 400 free relays. She helped the team to finish the 200 free relay in 1:33.27, while beating Penn State by nearly three seconds in the 400 free relay in a time of 3:26.79.

Senior Izzy Herb led the RedHawks to a convincing 223-77 dual-meet win at Cleveland State to open competition in 2020. Herb swept the backstroke events, winning the 200 back (2:06.44) by more than four seconds and the 100 back (58.08) by 1.74 seconds. She ranks in the top 10 in the MAC in both the 100 back and 200 back. Herb also swam a leg on each of the winning relays as Miami won both the 400 medley relay (3:53.62) and the 400 free relay (3:33.68) by more than four seconds. Herb was the only backstroker to swim her leg in less than one minute in the 400 medley relay, doing so in 58.40.
Meike Staffeldt, Eastern Michigan
Junior - Niedersachesen, Germany
Staffeldt earned her first two wins of the season, clocking in at 52.83 in the 100 yard freestyle and 1:54.56 in the 200 yard freestyle for top-spot finishes. Her two wins paced Eastern Michigan in its 193-49 win at Wayne State, Jan. 11.
