MAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Owen Richardson, Eastern Michigan
Junior – Basingstoke, England/The Costello School

In addition to winning the 200-meter dash at the Wolverine Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 11, Richardson was also a part of EMU's 'A' squad in the 4x400-meter relay, helping the Eagles capture second place with a time of 3:18.55.
 
MAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Bryeana Byrdsong, Ball State
Senior – Indianapolis, Indiana/Warren Central

Senior sprinter Bryeana Byrdsong became the first Ball State track & field student athlete to turn in a MAC indoor championship automatic qualifying mark this season, as she led a strong effort on the opening day of the Gene Edmonds Memorial Invite. One of three Cardinals to qualify for the semifinals of the 60m dash Friday evening at Purdue's Lambert Fieldhouse, Byrdsong improved from 13th in the opening round to fourth in the semifinals with a time of 7.58. Her effort is currently the second-fastest in the MAC this season and earned her one of eight spots in Saturday's finals race. She went on to place fifth in the finals at 7.69.
 
MAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed, Eastern Michigan
R-Junior – Arlington, Virginia/Fishburne Military

Sallah-Mohammed set a MAC automatic qualifying as he earned first place with a triple jump of 15.59 meters at the Wolverine Invitational hosted by the University of Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 11. Additionally, Sallah-Mohammed finished in third place in the long jump with a leap of 7.24 meters.
 
MAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Lucy Bryan, Akron
Senior – Bristol, England/Clifton

Akron senior Lucy Bryan registered the second-best jump in the NCAA this season en route to capturing the women’s elite title at the Akron Pole Vault Convention this past Saturday, Jan. 11. Bryan eclipsed 14-1.25 (4.30m) to win the women’s field. She bettered the bar on her opening attempts at 13-5.25 (4.10m) and 13-9.25 (4.20m) before clearing 14-1.25 (4.30m) on her second attempt.

Shevaughn Allen, Buffalo
Sophomore – Cheektowaga, New York/John F Kennedy Senior High

Shevaughn Allen hit a collegiate best mark of 23’11.75/7.31m to win the Wolverine Invite in the men’s long jump. His mark ranks No. 1 in the MAC and ties for No. 33 in the NCAA.  
 
Remy Amarteifio, NIU
Senior – Evanston, Illinois/Evanston Township

In the 60-meter hurdles at the Hawkeye Invitational (Jan. 11), NIU's Remy Amarteifio ran the second-fastest time in the MAC at 8.72 seconds in the preliminary round before taking second in the final with a time of 8.74 seconds, just 0.02 seconds behind first-place Patrice Watson of Northern Iowa.
 
Kaila Butler, Bowling Green
R-Junior – Port Coquitlam, British Columbia/Terry Fox Secondary

Redshirt junior Kaila Butler set a new personal best in the weight throw, throwing a MAC-best 66-feet-9.75 (20.36m) at the Wolverine Invitational Saturday. Butler's distance currently ranks 15th in the nation. Butler's final three throws all exceeded her previous career best in the event and her final distance leads the conference by more than two feet.
 
Quintella Johnson, Eastern Michigan
Junior – Las Vegas, Nevada/Saint Mary’s

Eastern Michigan junior Quintella Johnson placed fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.70 meters at the Wolverine Invitational hosted by the University of Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 11. Johnson, who won the 2019 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) indoor and outdoor high jump titles while competing at Texas Southern, posted a MAC automatic qualifying mark of 1.70 meters at the season-opening GVSU Holiday Open in Allendale, Mich. on Dec. 6, 2019.
 
Raynesha Lewis, Toledo
Senior – Cahokia, Illinois/Cahokia

Senior Raynesha Lewis clinched first in the long jump with a leap of 5.70m at the Wolverine Invitational hosted by Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Saturday. Lewis ranks fifth in the MAC and 90th in the NCAA for the long jump.
 
Jeremy Lissade, Buffalo
Junior – North Bellmore, New York/Mepham

Jeremy Lissade ran a personal best mark to place second overall in the men’s 60m at the Wolverine Invite.  His time of 6.89 ranks #1 in the MAC (as of 1/12/20).  
 
Molly McCreedy, Buffalo
Sophomore – Plainfield, New York/U-23 High

Molly McCreedy threw a personal best mark of 48’5.25/14.76m and placed second at the Wolverine Invite. Her mark ranks first in the MAC and ties for 53rd in the NCAA.
 
Abby Moore, Ohio
Junior – Rootstown, Ohio/Rootstown

Junior Abby Moore (Rootstown, Ohio) accounted for two of the Ohio track & field team's first-place finishes at the Marshall Women's Classic last Saturday (Jan. 11) at the Jeff Small Track at the Chris Cline Athletics Complex in Huntington, W. Va. Moore took the top spot in both the weight throw (18.02 meters) and shot put (13.63 meters).
 
Diamond Riley, NIU
Sophomore – St. Louis, Missouri/Ritenour

Diamond Riley won the triple jump at the Hawkeye Invitational (Jan. 11) with a best mark of 12.15m (39-10.50), a MAC automatic qualifying mark and the third best in the conference this season. Riley's top mark, set on her third jump of the competition, was a half-meter better than second place Amelia Peterson of Western Illinois (11.66m)
 
Stephanie Sherman, Toledo
Senior – Sylvania, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy

Senior Stephanie Sherman posted a personal-best time of 9:58.07 in the 3000 meters at the Wolverine Invitational hosted by Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Saturday. Sherman's time is a 12-second improvement from her previous personal best of 10:09.68, which she set during the 2019 season. Sherman ranks third in the MAC and 50th in the NCAA for the 3000m.
 
Emily Smith, Eastern Michigan
R-Senior – Somerset, England/Wells Cathedral School

Eastern Michigan co-captain Emily Smith finished in second place in the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:54.27 at the Wolverine Invitational hosted by the University of Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 11. It marked the fastest time of any attached runner in this event. Smith, who also competed for the Women's Cross Country Program, was recognized by the MAC as a Distinguished Scholar Athlete following the fall sports schedule. She earned Second-Team All-MAC honors for the second consecutive season as she helped the Eagles capture their fifth straight conference title.
 
Selina Von Jackowski, Buffalo
Senior – Pfeffingen, Switzerland/International School of Basel

In her season opener, Selina Von Jackowski placed third overall in the women's 60HH at the Wolverine Invite. Selina ran a MAC automatic qualifying mark.  Her time of 8.60 ranks first in the MAC and ties for 68th in the NCAA. 
 
Katie Zumbro, Ball State
Sophomore – Zanesville, Ohio/John Glen

Sophomore Karlie Zumbro currently leads the Mid-American Conference and ranks 63rd nationally in the pentathlon with a score of 3,068 (converted to 3,089) turned in at the Gene Edmonds Memorial Invite. Zumbro logged a career-best shot put distance of 8.96m and finished third among the 19 competitors in the 800m run at 2:31.45. She also ran 9.44 in the 60m hurdles, cleared 1.51m in the high jump and posted a distance of 4.70m in the long jump.
