OXFORD, Ohio -- Nike Sibande scored 25 points with 10 rebounds and Miami (OH) beat Kent State 77-74 on Tuesday for its first Mid-American Conference win of the season.
 
Danny Pippen's jump shot tied it at 68-all with 2:09 remaining. Sibande's 3-pointer put the Redhawks up with 1:43 left before Pippen countered with a 3 with 80 seconds to go. Sibande answered with a layup with 59 seconds left and Miami (8-9, 1-3) led for the remainder.
 
Bam Bowman, Isaiah Coleman-Lands and Dae Dae Grant each scored 11 in the win.
 
Neither team helped its cause at the free throw line as Miami shot 23 of 35 and Kent State went 8 of 15. Miami led 31-21 at halftime and managed to overcome Kent State's (13-4, 3-1) 53 points after the break. The Golden Flashes made 14 of 30 (46.7%) from beyond the 3-point arc.
 
Troy Simons scored 24, Anthony Roberts 19 and Pippen 12 in defeat.
 
Bowling Green 85, Western Michigan 82

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Daeqwon Plowden scored 19 points and Bowling Green fended off a late run by Western Michigan to edge the Broncos 85-82 on Tuesday night.
 
Dylan Frye added 16 points for Bowling Green, the Mid-American Conference preseason favorite, which won a third straight. Four players reached double figures for the Falcons (12-5, 3-1) with Marlon Sierra and Justin Turner chipping in 12 points apiece.
 
Michael Flowers led the Broncos (8-9, 1-3) with 28 points. Brandon Johnson added 18 and B. Artis White 14.
 
Bowling Green led by nine with less than three minutes to go, but Johnson sank two free throws, White nailed a 3 and Flowers an inside jump shot to pull Western Michigan to within 82-80 with 1:07 left.
 
Sierra scored on a drive to the basket and was fouled, converting the three-point play. Flowers and White missed from beyond the arc in the final four seconds.
 
Bowling Green faces Northern Illinois at home on Saturday. Western Michigan plays Kent State at home on Saturday.
 
Central Michigan 74, Toledo 67

TOLEDO, Ohio -- Dallas Morgan and Devontae Lane combined to score 32 second-half points and Central Michigan defeated Toledo 74-67 Tuesday night for the Chippewas' first win in Toledo's Savage Arena since 2016.
 
Morgan scored 20 of his 22 points in the second half and Lane added 16 points -- scoring 12 after halftime -- as Central Michigan (10-7, 3-1 Mid-American Conference) won for the first time on the road this season. David DiLeo added 16 points for Central Michigan and Rob Montgomery had a career-high 11 rebounds to go with seven points..
 
The Chippewas trailed by eight early in the second half, before Morgan scored seven unanswered points in under two minutes. A Morgan 3 made it 65-61 for the Chippewas with four minutes left. Central Michigan was 45% shooting (13-for-29) in the final period.
 
Keshaun Saunders scored 18 points for the Rockets (9-8, 1-3). Marreon Jackson added 15 points and six assists. Luke Knapke had 14 points.
 
Central Michigan faces Buffalo at home on Saturday. Toledo takes on Akron on the road on Saturday.
 
Ball State 69, Eastern Michigan 52

YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Tahjai Teague scored 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds and Ball St. topped Eastern Michigan 69-52 on Tuesday night.
 
Teague's career-high of 28 points came against Eastern Michigan on Jan. 8 last year.
 
Ishmael El-Amin had 16 points and seven assists for Ball St. (10-7, 3-1 Mid-American Conference). Kyle Mallers added 10 points and Jarron Coleman distributed eight assists for the visiting team.
 
Noah Morgan had 14 points for the Eagles (10-7, 0-4), whose losing streak reached four games. Yeikson Montero added 12 points. Boubacar Toure had nine rebounds.
 
Ty Groce, whose 12 points per game coming into the matchup led the Eagles, shot just 1 of 5.
 
Ball St. plays Miami at home on Saturday. Eastern Michigan plays Ohio at home on Saturday.

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Jeenathan Williams Jr. scored a career-high 26 points and Antwain Johnson scored 18 and Buffalo beat Ohio 76-73 on Tuesday.
 
Williams scored the go-ahead basket on a layup with 15 seconds to go. On Ohio's following possession, Josh Mballa blocked Jason Preston's layup attempt with five seconds left. The Bobcats gathered the deflection, but a pass attempt to Sylvester Ogbonda was tipped by a Buffalo defender, ricocheted off Ogbonda's fingertips and went out of bounds.
 
Jayvon Graves made a pair of foul shots with 0.3 seconds to seal the win.
 
Davonta Jordan added 10 point for the Bulls (11-6, 2-2 Mid-American Conference). Buffalo has won two straight and five of its last seven.
 
Ben Vander Plas scored a career-high 28 points and Jason Preston tied a career-high 27 points for Ohio (9-8, 1-3). Ogbonda scored 12.
 
Akron 72, Northern Illinois 49

DEKALB, Ill. -- Tyler Cheese scored 23 points as Akron romped past Northern Illinois 72-49 on Tuesday night to remain undefeated in the Mid-American Conference.
 
Loren Cristian Jackson ad 17 points with eight assists for Akron (14-3, 4-0), which won its fifth consecutive game. Xeyrius Williams added 12 points and 13 rebounds, his sixth double-double this season.
 
Akron dominated the first half, shooting 53% from the floor (16-for-30) to build a 44-20 halftime lead. Both teams set season lows for scoring during the game. The Zips' 28 second-half points were the lowest of the season for the visitors, while the 20 points in the first half for the Huskies marked the fewest of the season for Northern Illinois.
 
Eugene German had 17 points and eight rebounds for the Huskies (9-8, 2-2). Tyler Cochran added 10 points and seven rebounds. Trendon Hankerson was held to two points on 1-for-4 shooting in 34 minutes.
 
Akron plays Toledo at home on Saturday. Northern Illinois takes on Bowling Green on the road on Saturday.
