Akron Selected to Win 2019-20 Women's Swim & Dive Crown
Cleveland, Ohio – On Monday the Mid-American Conference Women's Swimming and Diving head coaches unanimously selected the Akron Zips to repeat as 2019-20 MAC champions this season.
Akron comes into the new year after capturing their sixth consecutive conference title last season. The Zips will return four All-MAC First Team members from a year ago, including the 2019 Freshman Swimmer of the Year, Sarah Watson. Leading the Zips will be reigning six-time MAC Swimming Coach of the Year, Brian Peresie, who is heading into his seventh season at the helm for the Zips.
Buffalo was selected to finish second in the Mid-American Conference this season. 2019 All-MAC First Team members Brittney Beetcher and Olivia Sapio will all return to the pool this season for the Bulls, in addition to All-MAC Second Team honoree, Andrea Ernst.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles were picked to finish third in the poll while Miami and Ohio were selected to finish fourth and fifth. Bowling Green, Ball State, and Toledo respectively round out the poll.
