Kent State's Breitenstine Takes Home Golfer of the Week Honors

Freshman Cade Breitenstine led the Flashes' lineup this week against a highly competitive field at the Inverness Intercollegiate. Breitenstine's performance helped Kent State earn its third-straight top-10 finish of the season, while also competing with three teams ranked in the top-15. The freshman finished tied for 11th with a 3-over 216 score. He posted a career-low 3-under 68 in the opening round with the help of six total birdies, five of which were in a row. He posted consistent rounds of 74 in rounds two and three. Breitenstine led Kent State with 10 total birdies for the tournament.

Joey Ranieri tied for 23rd at SMU's Trinity Forest Invitational, an event that featured seven NCAA Regional teams from last season. His second-round 67 was a career best and helped Ball State to the fifth-lowest team round in program history, a 277.
