MAC Storylines 
Eastern Michigan’s 34-31 win at Illinois extended the MAC’s steak of a win over a Big Ten opponent to 14 consecutive years. The Eagles have won a road game against a Big Ten opponent in each of the last three consecutive years -- 2019 (34-31 win at Illinois), 2018 (20-19 win at Purdue) and 2017 (16-13 win at Rutgers).
 
Last week MAC programs went 3-7 in 10 contests as Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan and Toledo all earned non-conference wins, while Central Michigan improved to 2-1 with a 45-24 win over Akron in MAC play.
 
Week 4 MAC programs face opponents from the Big Ten (No. 6-ranked Ohio State), ACC (Miami-Fla., North Carolina State, Syracuse), American (Temple), Mountain West (Colorado State), Sun Belt (Louisiana-Lafayette, Troy) and FCS (Central Connecticut State) this week with four non-conference home games and five non-conference road contests.
 
The Week 4 schedule also features the continuation of league play as Bowling Green (1-2) will travel to Kent State (1-2) on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 3:30 pm ET (ESPN3).
 
MAC Notebook
Western Michigan set a school record with seven rushing touchdowns in a 57-10 win over Georgia State. Western Michigan running back LeVante Bellamy set the tone with 192 yards rushing and three scores and averaged 12.8 yards per carry with scores from 60, 36 and 73 yards.
 
Toledo earned its first win of the season with a 45-0 win over Murray State. For the Rockets, this was Toledo’s first shutout in 228 games since Oct. 14, 2000 when Toledo shut out Marshall 42-0 in the Glass Bowl. Toledo senior quarterback Mitchell Guadagni connected on 18-25 passing for a career-high 266 yards and three touchdowns. Junior tight end Drew Rosi caught his first career touchdown pass, an 11-yarder and also set career bests in receptions (5) and receiving yards (84).
 
Central Michigan junior quarterback David Moore led the Chippewas to a 45-24 win over Akron as he threw for 316 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Kobe Lewis had 183 all-purpose yards, including a career-high 146 yards rushing and three touchdowns.
 
Ohio senior quarterback Nathan Rourke threw for three touchdowns and 215 yards and ran for 118 yards and another score, however Ohio suffered a 33-31 loss at Marshall in the ‘Battle for the Bell’. Rourke’s three touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown brought him to 84 career touchdowns responsible for, breaking the previous school record of 82 set by former quarterback Tyler Tettleton (2009-13).
