Men’s Runner of the Week
Caleb Covell, Buffalo
Junior – Rochester, New York/Eastridge

Caleb Covell successfully defended his UB Stampede Invite Title with a comfortable 18-second win. Caleb led his team to a dominating team title, scoring just 19 points as the UB Bulls took five of the top-six placements and seven of the top-10.
 
Women’s Co-Runners of the Week
Brittney Hall, Western Michigan
Senior -Macomb, Michigan/Utica

Hall was WMU's top runner at the 2019 Spartan Invitational. She finished 13th overall in a race that included 291 competitors. Her 6k time of 21:59.4 was a new personal best and she was also the top finisher out of any of the three MAC schools competing at the meet. This is the second straight meet that Hall has turned in a PR and has been the Broncos' top finisher.
 
Madison Sury, Ohio
R-Senior – Waterford, Ohio/Waterford

Madison Sury helped lead the Bobcats to a fourth-place finish at the Friendship Invitational with a time of 17:58.7 She finished first among Ohio runners and first among runners from MAC schools in the competition.
 
 
Other Nominees
Alexia Hecico, Buffalo
Freshman – Baia Mare, Romania/Vasili Lucaciu National College

Alexia Hecico led her teammates to a team win and a second-place finish at the UB Stampede Invite. Running just the second cross country race of her life, she ran a strong 22:23.8 over the 6k course. She placed just behind a talented exchange student from Australia who is running for Waterloo University (Izzy Thornton-Bott, 4:21.13/1500m PR). Alexia continues to develop each week.
 
Kyle Hibinger, Bowling Green
Junior – Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth

Leading the way for Bowling Green in the men's 8k was junior Kyle Hibinger coming in 24th overall with a time of 25:43.1. This was his first race of the 2019 season, and his first 8k since the MAC Championships last season.
 
Maritza Rodriguez, Ball State
Senior – Indianapolis, Indiana/Ben Davis

Led by a strong run from senior Maritza Rodriguez, the Ball State cross country team was the fastest in the Mid-American Conference Friday morning in East Lansing, Michigan, as it placed third among 25 teams at the Auto Owners/Playmakers Spartan Invitational hosted by Michigan State. Individually, Rodriguez led the Cardinals to the line and placed 17th out of the 291 runners in the field with a career-fast 6K time of 22:09.7. The effort shaved nearly 10 seconds off her previous career-best 6K clocking of 22:19.1 set at the 2017 MAC Championships.
 
Katerina Shuble, Bowling Green
Sophomore – LaPorte, Indiana/LaPorte

In her first race of the 2019 season, sophomore Katerina Shuble would finish first for the Falcons at 29th place overall with a time of 22.42.2. Shuble showed improvement in all 6k events as the season progressed a year ago, and this was just her first race.
