Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Jeremiah Hunter, Miami, 100
Junior - Blue Ash, Ohio/Sycamore

Hunter put up another big day in the sprints Friday at Indiana's Billy Hayes Invitational. In the 100m dash, he took first in the preliminary heat before running a 10.47 in the finals to take second. In addition, Hunter also grabbed second in the 200m, posting a 21.55. Hunter ranks top five in the MAC in both of those events.
 
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Olivia Bechtel, Miami, 400
Junior – Bay Village, Ohio/Bay

Bechtel set a new school record Friday at Indiana's Billy Hayes Invitational, running a 52.97 in the 400m to win the event. Bechtel is now Miami's record holder in both the indoor and outdoor 400m, having broken the indoor record earlier this season. She leads the MAC in the event and ranks 36th in the nation.
 
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Brandon Burke, Buffalo, High Jump
Sophomore – Churchville, New York/Byron-Bergen

The Jim Thorpe Invitational for Buffalo was highlighted by sophomore Brandon Burke's record-breaking showing in the high jump event, clearing the bar at a height of 7'2.50" (2.20m), a new program record. The mark currently ranks Burke tied for first in the MAC and 12th in the entire NCAA, the highest any UB student-athlete has been ranked since 2015.
 
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Gabby Bailey, Kent State, Shot Put
Freshman – Portmore, Jamaica/St. Jago

Gabby Bailey unleashed a personal-best throw of 55'-6.5" (16.93m) to win the shot put on Saturday at the Campbell/Wright Invitational. Bailey’s mark ranks 13th in the country this season and sits second on Kent State’s women’s outdoor all-time list behind only 2017 National Champion Danniel Thomas-Dodd.

Rachel Banks, Kent State, 800
Junior – Chardon, Ohio/Chardon

Rachel Banks won the 800-meter run at the Campbell-Wright Invitational with a personal-best time of 2:07.68 to move into sixth in the program's record book. Banks now owns the second-fastest time in the conference heading into the MAC Championships.
 
Gabriella Beauvais, Central Michigan, 400
Junior – Monona, Wisconsin/Monona Grove

Central Michigan junior sprinter Gabriella Beauvais turned in another impressive performance this past weekend as the Chippewas traveled to U-of-M's Len Paddock Open. The Monona, Wis., native placed 1st in 200-meter dash clocking a 21.14 second finish. It marks the second-consecutive week that Beauvais has earned a first-place finish after winning the 400-meter at the Jesse Owens Classic. Her 200m time is good for 7th in the MAC.
 
Trevor Detillion, Kent State, Discus
R-Junior – Chillicothe, Ohio/Unioto

Trevor Detillion captured his third discus throw title of the season with a mark of 179’-2” (54.60m) Saturday at the Campbell-Wright Invitational. Detillion dominated the event with all four of his legal throws going at least 6 meters further than any other competitor’s top throw.
 
Katie Dewey, Toledo, Shot Put/Discus
Senior – Jerry City, Ohio/Elmwood

Senior Katie Dewey took second in both the discus and shot-put events at the Len Paddock Open in Ann Arbor on Friday. Dewey posted a throw of 47.19 in the discus category, coming within 2.73m of her personal-best of 49.92m, which was set the week prior at the Hillsdale GINA Relays. In the shot-put event, Dewey posted a mark of 14.68m, a mere 0.82m from her personal-best of 15.50m, also set at the Hillsdale GINA Relays. Dewey ranks 7th in the MAC and 94th in the NCAA for discus. For shot put, Dewey ranks sixth in the MAC and 71st in the NCAA.
 
Jack Dodge, Central Michigan, 200
Sophomore – Walled Lake, Michigan/Walled Lake Western

Central Michigan junior sprinter Jack Dodge had a strong performance this past weekend as the Chippewas competed in U-of-M's Len Paddock Open. The Walled Lake, Mich., native placed first in the 200-meter dash with a 21.48-second finish. Dodge sits at the No.4 spot on the conference leader board heading into the MAC Championships.
 
Frank Douglas, Eastern Michigan, 100
Senior – Mansfield, Ohio/Madison Comprehensive

Eastern Michigan senior Frank Douglas registered a fourth-place effort in his debut performance in the 100m, finishing with a time of 10.90 at the Len Paddock Open Friday, May 3. The mark moves the senior into the Mid-American Conference's top-20 rankings in the event, as the Mansfield, Ohio native registered the 14th-fastest 100m run seen this season.
 
Keypathwa Gibson, Eastern Michigan, 100/200
Sophomore – Toledo, Ohio/Start

Eastern Michigan sophomore Keypathwa Gibson collected two top-five finishes to close out her regular season at the Len Paddock Open Friday, May 3. Gibson began her day with a fourth-place mark in the 100m, crossing the finish line in 11.99 and recording the 14th-fastest run by a MAC athlete in 2019. She then led the Eagles' efforts in the 200m, matching her career-best outdoor time of 24.46 to take home a bronze medal and earn her spot in the conference rankings. With her mark Friday, Gibson now holds the 13th-fastest time in the MAC this season.
 
Kenny Glenn, Miami, Long Jump
Senior – Mt. Healthy, Ohio/Mt. Healthy

Glenn broke his own school record Friday at Indiana's Billy Hayes Invitational, jumping a distance of 7.80m to win the event. This is the second time this season that Glenn has improved upon his all-time Miami-best mark, having set a new record back in the first week of the season. Glenn holds the MAC's second-best long jump mark and currently ranks 27th in the nation.
 
Nick Herbert, Eastern Michigan, Triple Jump
Senior – Portage, Michigan/Portage Northern 

Eastern Michigan senior Nick Herbert was one of just three Eagles to earn a second-place finish at the Len Paddock Open Friday, May 3, earning a silver medal in the Triple Jump. The senior leaped to a distance of 15.14m and continues to hold the fourth-furthest clearance this season by a Mid-American athlete.  
 
Janelle Noe, Toledo, 1500
Senior – Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Northview

Senior Janelle Noe clinched first with a time of 4:23.65 in the 1500 meters at the Len Paddock Open in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Friday. Noe's time of 4:23.65 is a season-best, down five seconds from her first race of the outdoor season, and 13 seconds from her personal-best of set at last year's NCAA Outdoor Championships. Noe ranks fourth in the MAC and 128th in the NCAA for the 1500m.
 
Chineme Ononiwu, Buffalo, 110 Hurdles
Freshman – Brooklyn, New York/Archbishop Molloy

Buffalo freshman Chineme Ononiwu ran to a personal best mark of 15.34 and 2nd place finish in the 110HH of 15.34 at the Jim Thorpe Open.
 
Erica Sheahan, Western Michigan, Long Jump
Junior -Ithaca, Michigan/Ithaca

Sheahan registered an outdoor personal-best performance in the long jump at Michigan's Len Paddock Open on Friday. The junior reached a distance of 19' 7" (1.9m) to take second overall in the event. Her distance was also a MAC automatic qualifying mark and currently ranks fourth in the conference.
 
Amy Villarini, Buffalo, 200
Senior – Hamburg, New York/Hamburg

Buffalo Senior Amy Villarini ran a personal best time of 24.86 in the 200m race, winning the event at the Jim Thorpe Open.  
 
Crystal Washington, Eastern Michigan, Triple Jump
Sophomore – Los Angeles, California/Carson

Eastern Michigan sophomore Crystal Washington highlighted the Eagles' day by earning the team's lone event title in the triple jump, battling through tough and windy weather conditions at the Len Paddock Open Friday, May 3. Washington cleared 11.83 on Friday, .91 meters better than the second-place mark. She continues to sit third in the conference's triple jump standings, set earlier this season at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational, where she cleared 12.38m.
 
Sarah Wesley, Buffalo, Javelin
Junior – Exeter, PA/Exeter Township

Buffalo junior Sara Wesley threw a personal best mark of 37.80m in the Javelin throw event to take 3rd place at the Jim Thorpe Open. The new personal best mark ranks her #14 in the MAC.
 
Jehvania Whyte, NIU, Long Jump
Senior – Kingston, Jamaica/Vere Technical

NIU's Jehvania Whyte set a new school record of 6.04m (19-09.75) while winning the long jump at the NIU Huskie Classic. Whyte's leap, which came on her second jump of the competition, is the third-best long jump in the MAC this season and betters the previous school record of 6.00m (19-08.25) that Whyte set at the 2018 MAC Championships.
 
Nadia Williams, Central Michigan, Long Jump
Junior – Mount Horeb, Wisconsin/Mount Horeb

Central Michigan junior jumper Nadia Williams continued her record-breaking season this past weekend as the Chippewas competed in U-of-M's Len Paddock Open. The Mount Horeb, Wis., native finished 1st in the women's long jump with a 6.32-meter leap. Her mark breaks the school record (6.29m) which was set by teammate Janelle Perry two weeks ago. Williams sits at the No.2 spot on the MAC performance list and is No.27 nationally heading into this weekend's MAC Championship.
 
Abigale Wilson, Akron, Discus/Shot Put
Senior – Carrollton, Ohio/Carrollton

Akron senior Abigale Wilson won the women's discus at the Campbell/Wright Invitational on May 4 with a season-best mark of 178-4 (54.37m), while finishing second in the women's shot put with a season-long mark of 51-5 (15.67m). Her mark in the discus stands as the No. 30 mark in the NCAA this season.
