Men's Golf All-MAC First & Second Teams Announced

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Today the Mid-American Conference announced the Men's Golf All-MAC First Team & Second Teams for the 2019 season. The teams were voted on by the league's nine head coaches.

Eastern Michigan's Beau Breault leads this year's selections after being named Golfer of the Year following the MAC Championships. Breault led the conference with a stroke average of 71.76 over 10 tournaments, while posting five top-10 finishes and carding 16 rounds of par-or-better. His 18 hole average ranks as the best single season mark in EMU history with 2,081 strokes in 29 rounds played. The Hartland, Mich. native was named the conference's co-Golfer of the Week, March 22, after shooting a one-under 215 (70-73-7) to tie for eighth at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular. Breault closed out the season with a 146 to tie for sixth at the MAC Championships, April 27, and help Eastern to a share its first conference title since 2008.

Joining Breault on the first team is Toledo's Duncan McNeill. McNeill will travel to the Bluegrass State on May 13-15 to compete in the NCAA Louisville Regional after claiming medalist honors at the MAC Championships. McNeill tallied an impressive five-under 139 (71-68) with his four-under 68 in the second round tying his career low. He led the Rockets in the 2018-19 campaign with a 74.6 

Eastern Michigan's Ty Celone, Kent State's Bjarki Petursson, Miami's Charlie Nikitas & Northern Illinois' Salvador Rocha rounded out the first team selections.

Akron's Elliott Grayson, Ball State's Timothy Wiseman, Kent State's Will Kurtz & Gisli Sveinbergsson along with Ohio's Zach Crawford made up the All-MAC second team.
