Central Michigan collected 11 hits, seven of them for extra bases, on Saturday in sweeping a Mid-American Conference doubleheader from Ohio at Margo JonkerStadium.
The Chippewas won the opener, 6-3, and took the nightcap, 7-4, as they swept the three-game series from an Ohio team that had won 10 of 13 entering the series, is the defending MAC regular-season and tournament champion, and is the MAC's top-hitting team.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kent State softball team (16-18, 6-2 MAC) came back in both wins on Saturday evening to earn a regular season series sweep over Western Michigan (10-17, 3-4 MAC) at Ebert Field. Kent State took the first game of the doubleheader 6-3 before closing with a 4-1 victory in the nightcap. The Golden Flashes moved into first place in the Mid-American Conference standings and scored 13 runs in the sixth inning during the series. Kent State has not taken seven of the last eight against the Broncos.

DEKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University softball team split its doubleheader with Miami by identical 4-3 scores at Mary M. Bell Field Saturday. The Huskies (17-20, 4-6) rallied for a walk-off winner in game one against Miami (20-13, 5-3) but had their seventh-inning rally come up short in game two.

Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo softball team (12-20) split a twin bill with Akron (8-21) today to win the three-game series and move to 4-4 in Mid-American Conference play. UT fell 11-5 in game one but rallied to take a 6-1 victory in the nightcap to go 2-1 vs. the Zips over the weekend. Senior Kaitlyn Bergman had an impressive day as she went 4-for-6 with a solo homer, two walks, and two runs scored. Sophomore Erin Hunt added her eighth victory of the year after going the distance in game two, throwing a no-hitter through six innings.

MUNCIE, Ind.- - While hits were a premium for the Ball State softball offense all weekend, freshmen Trinity Eckerty and Amaia Daniel provided a pair of big at bats when the team needed it the most Saturday evening at the Softball Field at First Merchants Ballpark Complex.
