MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Central Michigan women's basketball senior Presley Hudson showed the nation what Chippewa fans have known for the last four years – that she is one of the best three-point shooters in women's college basketball history.

Hudson won the @CollegeSlam Three-Point Challenge on Thursday night at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn. She hit 77-of-100 triples during the competition, the most in event history.

"It feels great, I give a lot of credit to my coaches and our managers for helping get me ready for tonight," Hudson said. "Once I got warmed up, I really got into a grove and it felt like every shot was going in. To go against so many great shooters and come out on top is an amazing feeling."

Hudson began the competition with 19 points in the first round. She advanced to the finals with 23 points including 14-straight made shots to start the semifinals. Hudson took on Belmont's Darby Maggard for women's title and won that round, 23-18. She took on men's champion Clayton Custer of Loyola in a final match-up and defeated him, 25-15, to take home the ultimate title. Her point total in the final round is a new record for the competition.

"What people saw tonight is what we see every day in practice," Head Coach Sue Guevara said. "Presley puts so much time and effort into everything she does, and tonight was a culmination of a lot of that hard work. She has a amazing family and it was great that they were able to see her win this competition tonight. My heart could not be happier for her."

One of seven players in NCAA Division I women's basketball history to hit at least 400 three-pointers, Hudson finished her illustrious career with 407 triples. She holds the CMU single-season record for three-pointers (125), the Mid-American Conference career three-point record and is tied for the CMU single-game three-point record (9). Hudson leaves as the Chippewas all-time leading scorer in program history with 2,309 points
