2018-19 Men's Basketball Academic All-MAC Team Announced
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced Friday the 2018-19 Men’s Basketball Academic All-MAC Team. A total of 17 student-athletes were named to the team from this past season.
Western Michigan & Ohio led this year’s squad with three student-athletes each. Ball State, Central Michigan and Toledo also had multiple selections with two honorees on this year’s team.
This marks the third consecutive season that both Toledo's Luke Knapke & Western Michigan’s Seth Dugan have been named to the squad. Ball State’s Kyle Mallers, Eastern Michigan’s Paul Jackson, Kent State’s Mitch Peterson, Western Michigan’s Adida Ikongshul & Jared Printy are making their appearance for the second consecutive year.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
