Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Shane Moffo, Central Michigan, 110 Hurdles
Senior – Farmington Hills, Michigan/Walled Lake Western

After bringing home MAC Track Athlete of the Week honors a week ago, Central Michigan senior hurdler Shane Moffo picked up where he left off with another stellar performance this past weekend as the Chippewas competed in Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic. The Farmington Hills, Mich., native place 1st in the 110m hurdles clocking a 13.91 second finish which falls just short of his season-best mark from last weekend (13.87). Moffo sits atop the MAC rankings and is No.24 in the NCAA.
 
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Nicole Yeargin, Kent State, 100/200/400
Junior – Bowie, Maryland/Bishop McNamara

Nicole Yeargin ran the fastest 200m and 400m races in Kent State’s women’s outdoor track and field history in just under 24 hours this past weekend at the UF Tom Jones Memorial. Yeargin tied her own school record with a wind-legal 23.26 in the 200m on Friday evening and came back Saturday afternoon to run the 400m in 53.51. Both times are the top in the Mid-American Conference and top-50 nationally.
 
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Ian Behm, Akron, Javelin
R-Junior – Volant, PA/Wilmington

Akron redshirt junior Ian Behm registered a school-record mark of 233-7 (71.20m) en route to capturing the men's javelin to headline the Zips' track and field efforts at the Jesse Owens Classic hosted by Ohio State on Friday, April 26. Behm's performance surpassed Jeff Vojtko's school-record mark of 232-3 set in 1992 and stands as the 15th-best mark in the NCAA this season. The record was the oldest one still atop the all-time performance list for the Zips in program history.
 
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Lucy Bryan, Akron, Pole Vault
Senior – Bristol, England/Clifton

Akron senior Lucy Bryan established a school and Mid-American Conference record in the women's pole vault to headline the efforts of the Zips' track and field team at the LSU Invitational on Saturday, April 27. Bryan captured the women's pole vault eclipsing a school-record mark of 14-9 (4.50m), breaking the all-time school and league standard of 14-5.50 (4.41m) set by Annika Roloff on May 10, 2014. She cleared a personal-best outdoor mark of 14-5.50 (4.41m) on her third and final attempt to win the competition. After passing on the next height, 14-7.50 (4.46m), Bryan bested the bar at 14-9 (4.50m) on her second attempt at the mark.

 
 
Other Nominees:
Gabriella Beauvais, Central Michigan, 400
Junior – Monona, Wisconsin/Monona Grove

Central Michigan junior sprinter Gabriella Beauvais turned in her best performance of the outdoor season this past weekend as the Chippewas took part in Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic. The Monona, Wis., native clocked a season-best 53.63 second finish to win the women's 400m dash. Her time ranks No.2 in the MAC and is No.58 in the NCAA. Beauvais also competed in the 200m dash placing 3rd with a 24.24 time.
 
Olivia Bechtel, Miami, 200
Junior – Bay Village, Ohio/Bay

Bechtel was a key part of the success of Miami's 4x400 relay team this weekend at the 125th Penn Relays, as the squad took fifth in the event while setting a new school record with a 3:38.29. Bechtel, running as the anchor, was a major factor in that success as she turned in a blistering 52.12 split to bring things home for the RedHawks. Individually, that time would have placed her in the nation's top ten in the 400m.
 
Bryeana Byrdsong, Ball State, 100/200
Junior – Indianapolis, Indiana/Warren Central

Junior Bryeana Byrdsong had perhaps the biggest day for Ball State at the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational, improving her MAC auto marks in both the 100m and 200m, while anchoring the 4x400m relay which placed second at 3:50.32. In her first individual race of the day, Byrdsong took fifth in the 100m with a time of 11.70, .01 shy of her career-best effort and .06 better than her previous season-best time. She followed with a fourth-place time of 23.85 in the 200m, which was .01 better than her previous season-best.
 
Kadian Clarke, Eastern Michigan, Hanner/Discus
Sophomore – Kingston, Jamaica/Immaculate Conception

Eastern Michigan sophomore Kadian Clarke record a 14th-place hammer throw effort of 50.80m, her career best and the fourth-best thrown seen by an athlete donning the Green and White. Clarke bested her previous top performance by .12m, set at the Spartan Invitational, April 5-6. The Kingston, Jamaica native holds the 13th-best clearance by a Mid-American Conference athlete this season.
 
Danielle Collier, Miami, Javelin
Junior – Hermitage, PA/Hickory

Collier took first in yet another javelin competition this past weekend, throwing a 50.12m to win the event at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic. Collier, who ranks 12th in the nation in the event, has put up a throw of at least 50 meters in every single meet so far this season.
 
Katie Dewey, Toledo, Shot Put/Discus
Senior – Jerry City, Ohio/Elmwood

Senior Katie Dewey posted personal bests of 15.50m and 49.92m in the shot put and discus events, respectively, garnering first-place finishes in both events at the Hillsdale GINA Relays over the weekend. Dewey is ranked sixth in the MAC and 68th in the NCAA for shot put. For discus, Dewey ranks seventh in the MAC and 88th in the NCAA.
 
Steven Gilfus, Buffalo, Long Jump/Pole Vault
Freshman – Weedsport, New York/Weedsport

Freshman Steven Gilfus claimed the win in the long jump event with a leap of 6.37m, his second-best mark of the season. Additionally, Gilfus placed fourth in the pole vault competition with a height of 4.35m, a new personal best for the freshman.
 
Kenny Glenn, Miami, Long Jump
Senior – Mt. Healthy, Ohio/Mt. Healthy

Glenn continued his streak of strong performances in the long jump last weekend at the 125th Penn Relays in Philadelphia, putting up a mark of 7.25m to finish fourth. Glenn, Miami's school record holder in the event, is currently ranked third in the MAC and is in the nation's top 40.
 
Jessica Harris, Eastern Michigan, 100/200
Senior – Slidell, Louisiana/Slidell

Senior Jessica Harris recorded two top-10 individual efforts throughout her time at the Jesse Owens Classic, April 26-27. The senior placed third in the 100m with a season-best run of 11.69, while finishing ninth in the 200m with a 2019-best time of 24.67. Her 100m performance ranks second in the Mid-American Conference rankings, while her 200m ranks 21st in the conference this outdoor season. Harris also ran a leg of the Eagles' first-place 4x100-meter relay, as the squad not only recorded its season-best effort with its podium-topping time of 45.22 but posted the fifth-fastest relay time in program history. The group owns the best time in the MAC while ranking 50th in the nation in the relay event.
 
Allison Hufnagel, Western Michigan, Heptathlon
Senior – Fowler, Michigan/Fowler

Allison Hufnagel produced the MAC's top score in the heptathlon after competing at the Drake Relays. Hufnagel combined to score 4,648 points on Wednesday and Thursday to finish eighth overall. She took 10th in the 100m hurdles, 8th in the high jump, 12th in the shot put, 7th in the 200m dash, 10th in the long jump, 8th in the javelin and 7th in the 800m run.
 
Jeremiah Hunter, Miami, 100
Junior - Blue Ash, Ohio/Sycamore

Hunter set a new personal record with a run of 10.38 in the 100m dash at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic over the weekend, taking fourth in the event. With that, Hunter moves into the national top 100 in the event and sits second in the MAC. In addition, the junior also turned in a 21.29 in the 200m to grab a third-place finish in that race.
 
Raven Jordan, Buffalo, High Jump
Senior – Ashburn, VA/Briar Woods

Raven Jordan celebrated Buffalo's senior day in Style as the senior high jumper won the event at the UB invite with a new personal best height of 1.60m. Jordan, a dual-athlete who also competed on Buffalo volleyball squad, currently ranks 21st in the MAC.
 
TJ Lawson, Kent State, Long Jump
R-Junior – Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe

TJ Lawson won the long jump in dominant fashion at the Jesse Owens Classic with an outdoor PR of 24’-9” (7.54m) on Saturday. Lawson had the top four attempts of the competition and ranks 55th in the country. His mark is tied for the eighth-best in Kent State program history.
 
Regan Lewis, Ball State, High Jump
Senior – Greenfield, Indiana/Greenfield-Central

Continued her march towards an unprecedented 5th consecutive MAC high jump title by placing third in the event at the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational with a season-best clearance of 1.71m.
 
Alyssa Matheny, Kent State, High Jump
Sophomore – Akron, Ohio/Manchester

Alyssa Matheny cleared the bar on each of her first three attempts Saturday to win the women's high jump at the UF Tom Jones Memorial with a mark of 5'-8.75" (1.75m). Matheny’s PR height of 5’-10.5” (1.79m) at the season-opening Raleigh Relays ranks 25th nationally, and the sophomore is one of only two Mid-American Conference competitors to clear the bar at higher than 5’-7.25” (1.71m) during the outdoor season.
 
Madison Meredith, Western Michigan, 100/200
Junior – Birmingham, Michigan/Groves

Madison Meredith ran the MAC's fastest 100-meter dash time at the Jesse Owens Classic on Saturday. Meredith ran a time of 11.63 seconds to take second overall in the race. The time would have been a school record if not for a 2.9 wind rating. Meredith also ran a season-best time in the 200-meter dash, taking eighth.
 
Janelle Noe, Toledo, 1500
Senior – Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Northview

Senior Janelle Noe clocked a time of 4:25.03 in the 1500 meters, landing in third place at the Hillsdale GINA Relays on Friday. Noe ranks fourth in the MAC and 166th in the NCAA for the 1500m.  
 
Tyler Underwood, Eastern Michigan, 200/400
Senior – Clinton, Michigan/Clinton

Eastern Michigan senior Tyler Underwood recorded a personal best time of 20.94 in the 200m at the Jesse Owens Classic, April 26-27. Underwood continues to lead the MAC in the event, besting his previous top effort by .07 seconds. He also ran a leg in the Green and White's second-place finishing 4x100-meter relay team, as the squad raced to a time of 40.64, besting relay squads from Miami University and Michigan State University.
 
Quiara Wheeler, Central Michigan, Hammer
Sophomore – Flint, Michigan/Grand Blanc

Central Michigan sophomore thrower Quiara Wheeler had a career day this past weekend as the Chippewas competed in Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic. The Flint, Mich., native placed first in the women's hammer throw with 63.01m (206-8) toss shattering the school record (60.56m/198-8) which was set by teammate Marissa Dunn earlier this season. Her mark ranks No.2 on the MAC scoring list and is No.28 nationally. Wheeler also posted a personal-best 44.88m (147-3) throw in the discus to place 7th among the field.
 
Noah Williams, Akron, 400
R-Freshman – Hilton, New York/McQuaid Jesuit

Akron redshirt freshman Noah Williams registered a school-record time of 46.28 in the men's 400 meters at the LSU Invitational on April 27, shattering his personal-best time of 47.19 by nearly a second, en route to placing second in the event. Williams bested Brent Gray's school-record time of 46.40 set on May 29, 2015. He also ran a leg on the Zips' 4x400 relay team that posted the fastest time of the season for Akron, 3:13.11, en route to placing second.
 
Derek Ziegenfuss, Eastern Michigan, Javelin
Senior – Allentown, PA/Parkland

Eastern Michigan senior Derek Ziegenfuss secured a second-place finish in the javelin throw with a heave of 65.73m at the Jesse Owens Classic, April 26. The throw marked the Eagles' top finish of the day and went almost three meters further than the third-place finisher. Ziegenfuss is one of two MAC automatic qualifiers in the event this season and ranks in the top-25 nationwide throwers.
