Eagles, Golden Flashes Tied For Lead After Two Rounds at Club Walden

AURORA, Ohio - After day one of the 2019 MAC Men's Golf Championships, the Eastern Michigan Eagles & host Kent State Golden Flashes are tied for the lead with a team score of 581 (+5) here at par 72, 7,202-yard Club Walden course. Toledo's Duncan McNeill is the individual leader after firing a 71-68 = 139 (-5).

McNeill opened his day with a birdie and bogey and registered 15 pars and a birdie for the remainder of his first round. After bogeying his second hole of Round 2, the Annan, Scotland native hit the turn at one-under and grabbed the lead with three birdies in a four-hole stretch on the back nine. McNeill is tied for the tournament lead with 27 pars and finished with seven birdies and just two bogeys.
Four of the Eagles golfers are in the top-10 individually, led by junior Zach Sudinsky. After shooting a 74 in the morning, he followed with a 71 in the afternoon. All five of Kent State's shot an under-par score for their second round with four players in the top-10, led by Gisli Sveinbergsson. Sveinbergsson mirrored his first round total of 1-under in the second round and sits second at 2-under 142.

Behind Eastern Michigan and Kent State, Toledo is in third at 597 followed by Akron (598), Bowling Green (602),  Ohio (603), Miami (603), Ball State (604), and Northern Illinois (609).

The final round of the MAC Championships is set for tomorrow with tee times beginnning at 8:30 a.m. Following the championships the All-Tournament Team, Golfer of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Kermit Blosser Coach of the Year, and Earl Yestingsmeier Sportsmanship Awards will be handed out.
