YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Akron softball team traveled to western Ohio to compete in a non-conference doubleheader against Youngstown State and fell to the Penguins in a pair of one-run ballgames, 2-1 and 6-5, on Tuesday afternoon at the YSU Softball Complex in Youngstown, Ohio.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan softball team managed just two hits on Tuesday in dropping its home opener, 8-0, to 25th-ranked Michigan at Margo Jonker Stadium. The Chippewas (11-16) return to Mid-American Conference play this weekend with a three-game series at Buffalo. CMU and the Bulls meet in the opener on Friday (3 p.m.) and then in a doubleheader on Saturday (1 p.m.).

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Jen Cader delivered the go-ahead home run in game one of the doubleheader and had eight RBIs on the day as Kent State (11-16) swept its doubleheader against Monmouth (13-10). With Kent State down to its final out and trailing by a run, Cader hit a three-run jack to right to push the Flashes in front and allow Anilese Kelly to pitch the seventh and earn the win, 3-1.

DAYTON, Ohio – The Miami University softball team (16-12, 1-2 MAC) swept its mid-week doubleheader with Wright State (12-17, 0-3 Horizon) on Tuesday. The RedHawks dominated the first game, shutting out Wright State by a 6-0 margin before winning the second game by a 4-2 margin.

ATHENS, Ohio— After trailing for six innings, a two-homerun from Morgan Geno, crowning her the Ohio all-time RBI leader, helped the Ohio softball team (22-10, 3-0 MAC) rally and defeat Northern Kentucky (7-19, 0-3 Horizon), 3-1.
Geno's 139 RBI surpasses the mark of 137 that was set by Lauren Gellerman in 2013.
