MUNCIE, Ind.- - Ball State softball's offense set the tone early, exploding for 11 runs in the opening inning before cruising to a doubleheader sweep of visiting Akron Saturday afternoon in Mid-American Conference play at the Softball Field at First Merchants Ballpark Complex. The Cardinals (25-10; 3-0 MAC) went on to win the opening game 13-1 (5), before taking the nightcap 9-1 (6) to run its winning streak over the Zips (6-14-2; 0-3 MAC) to 10 games.

OXFORD, Ohio – The Central Michigan softball team once again did most of its offensive damage late. In game one, it was enough; in the nightcap, not quite.
 The Chippewas split a Mid-American Conference doubleheader with Miami (Ohio) on Saturday, winning the opener, 4-3; and then falling in the nightcap, 7-3.

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Kent State softball team (9-16) opened its Mid-American Conference schedule grabbing a weekend series win against Toledo (9-17). The Golden Flashes picked up a win Friday afternoon before claiming the series 8-6 in game one of Saturday's doubleheader.

OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University softball team (14-12, 1-2 MAC) split its doubleheader against Central Michigan (11-15, 2-1 MAC) on Saturday to conclude the three-game series. The first game of the day went to Central Michigan by a 4-3 margin in eight innings before Miami took the second game of the doubleheader by a 7-3 margin.

ATHENS, Ohio– The Ohio softball team (21-10, 3-0 MAC) wrapped up the weekend with an exciting doubleheader sweep of Mid-American Conference foe Bowling Green (10-16, 0-3 MAC) on Saturday (March 23) inside the Ohio Softball Field. The Bobcats won game one, 8-7, in eight innings, before defeating the Falcons, 15-10, in game two to sweep the season series. Senior Morgan Geno's (Chillicothe, Ohio) five RBI today tied her for the all-time lead in runs batted in.

Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo softball team (9-17, 1-2 MAC) split day two of opening weekend against Kent State (9-16, 2-1 MAC) today. The Golden Flashes took game one 8-6 but UT rallied in the later game to win 5-2 and end the series with a 1-2 record. Senior Katie Cozy was a dominant force today, going 4-for-6 with seven RBIs, two runs and a two-run dinger.
