For the second straight season, the Bulls will play in the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a berth to the Sweet Sixteen on the line.  Last season, UB faced the Kentucky Wildcats, while this year, Buffalo will meet the Texas Tech Red Raiders for the first time in school history.  The Bulls will enter Sunday's game with nation's fourth best scoring offense, while Texas Tech is third in the nation in scoring defense.  A win by UB would mark their first ever Sweet 16 appearance.

It is a contrasting style of play between the two teams that will feature one of the nation's top offenses in Buffalo and one of the top defenses in Texas Tech.  UB is averaging 85.1 points per game this year, while the Red Raiders allow just 59.2 points per contest.

With his 18 points on Friday night, senior CJ Massinburg set UB's single season scoring record with 622 points.  Massinburg is now at 1,976 points for his career as he is just 28 points shy of tying Javon McRea for number one on Buffalo's all-time scoring list.

Texas Tech will mark the second Big 12 opponent that Buffalo has faced this year as UB defeated West Virginia in overtime back on Nov. 9 when the Mountaineers were ranked 13th in the nation.  Senior CJ Massinburg had a career high 43 points in the game against the Mountaineers.

Buffalo becomes the first MAC teams to win NCAA Tournament games in consecutive seasons since Kent State won their opening game in 2001 and then in 2002 made a run all the way to the Elite Eight.

Friday night's win was the 13th straight for the Bulls, which is currently the third longest winning streak in the nation behind just UC-Irvine and Wofford.
