Akron 59, Tennessee Tech 73 (WBI) // Box Score
In the first round of the 2019 Women's Basketball Invitational, the Akron women's basketball team's 2018-19 season came to a close as the Zips dropped a 73-59 decision to Tennessee Tech on the road in Cookeville, Tenn., on Thursday night in postseason action. As the book closed on the 45thseason of Zips' women's basketball, Akron finished the campaign with a 16-15 overall record, surpassing its win total from last season by seven games. The 2018-19 Zips are just the eighth team in Akron program history to win at least 16 games in a season and the seventh Zips squad to do so in the Division I era.

Kent State 64, Green Bay 59 (WNIT) // Box Score
Kent State overcame a 13-point deficit late in the third period to take down host Green Bay, 64-59, in a WNIT first round matchup Thursday evening at the Kress Center. The victory is the Golden Flashes' first ever in WNIT action, and the first postseason tournament win since 1996. Redshirt junior Megan Carter scored 10 of her game-high 21 points in the final period to lead the comeback. Freshman Lindsey Thall buried three crucial three-pointers, as the duo combined to outscore the Phoenix, 19-16, over the final 10 minutes.

Miami 63, Western Kentucky 67 (WNIT) // Box Score
The Miami University women's basketball team (23-9, 13-5 MAC) lost a heartbreaker to Western Kentucky (19-14, 11-5 C-USA) in the first round of the WNIT in Millett Hall on Thursday. Lauren Dickerson led all players with 25 points, reaching 20 points for the 11th time this season. Kendall McCoy also reached double figures, sinking five three-pointers for 15 total points.

Ohio 81, High Point 74 (WNIT) // Box Score
Behind a strong fourth quarter performance, the Ohio Women's Basketball team (28-5, 14-4 MAC) earned a Women's National Invitation Tournament first round win after defeating High Point (22-7, 15-3 Big South), 81-74, on Thursday evening inside the Convocation Center. With this victory, Ohio set a new school record for wins in a season with 28. The Bobcats will continue the WNIT at home on Sunday, March 24th at 2 p.m. against Middle Tennessee State for the second round.

Toledo 71, Seton Hall 65 (WNIT) // Box Score
Toledo grinded out a hard-fought 71-65 victory over BIG EAST member Seton Hall in the first round of the Postseason WNIT in Savage Arena on Thursday. With the win, Head Coach Tricia Cullop became the school's all-time winningest coach, passing Mark Ehlen (240-149, 1995-2008) with 241 victories. The Rockets (21-11) will now host Big Ten member Northwestern (17-14) in a second-round match-up on Sunday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m. at home.
