MAC Gymnast of the Week
Denelle Pedrick, Central Michigan, Junior

To conclude MAC competition, Junior, Denelle Pedrick claimed the All-Around Title vs. Northern Illinois. With a 39.525 (CAREER HIGH), Pedrick’s breakdown includes; a 9.900 on Vault (SECOND), 9.850 on Bars (SECOND and TIES CAREER HIGH), 9.850 on Beam (FIRST), and a 9.925 on Floor (FIRST and TIES CAREER HIGH). Pedrick’s 39.525 All-Around performance against the Huskies places her as the top MAC gymnast during the week of March 17th, with the next highest score coming from the respective Bowling Green performer (39.375).

Courtney Bezold, Eastern Michigan, Sophomore

Sophomore Cortney Bezold placed first on bars against Kent State University, March 15, with a score of 9.875.

Other Gymnast Nominees 

Jovannah East, Bowling Green, Junior
Jovannah East won event titles on beam and floor and placed second on bars on the way to the all-around title in Bowling Green’s regular season finale against Western Michigan. East’s all-around score of 39.375 tied for the fifth best all-around score in program history and was her best score of the year.

Jada Rondeau, Eastern Michigan, Sophomore
Sophomore Jada Rondeau placed first in the all-around competition against Kent State University, March 15, with a new career-high score of 39.275. Rondeau took first on beam with 9.850, followed by two second place finishes on bars and floor, scoring 9.850 and 9.875, respectively.

Allison Richardson, Northern Illinois, Junior
Junior Allison Richardson put together her top meet of the season at Central Michigan, posting scores of 9.750 on bars, a season and career high 9.850 on balance beam and a 9.800 on floor exercise, helping NIU to its third 195-plus score of the season. Richardson’s routine tied for first on balance beam for her first win of the year on beam, she tied for fourth on both bars and floor, with the Huskies’ second-highest scores of the meet on both. It marked the first time this season the three-eventer posted scores of 9.800 or higher on two events in the same meet.

Rachel Underwood, Western Michigan, Senior
Rachael Underwood wrapped up the regular season finishing in second place in the all-around at Bowling Green on Friday night. Underwood finished fourth in the vault, tied for sixth in the bars, took third in the balance beam and tied for first place in the floor for a final score of 39.225. The Broncos fell just shy of the Falcons at the meet, 195.35-194.075.

Other Specialist Nominees

Leslie Delgado, Bowling Green, Senior
Senior Leslie Delgado scored a personal best 9.875 on bars to win the event title on Senior Day during Bowling Green’s win over Western Michigan Friday night. Delgado had the only bars score above 9.800 on the evening.

Sydney Williams, Central Michigan, Junior
Junior Sydney Williams provided the Chippewas with a jolt of energy as she stuck a 9.925 on Vault vs the Huskies (FIRST and TIES CAREER HIGH). With Williams’ leadership, Central Michigan was able to claim a victory vs Northern Illinois as well as wrap up an undefeated 2019 MAC record.

Anna Martucci, Northern Illinois, Senior
NIU senior specialist Anna Martucci once again set the standard for the Huskies, recording a 9.900 on floor exercise to take second place in the Huskies’ regular season finale at Central Michigan. Martucci recorded her fifth score of 9.900 or higher on floor this year to post the highest score on any event by a Huskie gymnast in the meet. She added a 9.725 to tie for seventh as the Huskies earned their third 195- plus score of the season.

Floor: 9.900 / 2nd

Emily Carless, Western Michigan, Freshman 

Emily Carless took second place at Bowling Green in the balance beam. The freshman was just shy of matching her career-high score, finishing with a 9.850
