MAC Announces 2019 Gymnastics All-MAC Team
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced the Gymnastics All-MAC First Team and Second Team selections for the 2019 season Wednesday. The teams were selected based upon individual conference rankings of National Qualifying Standard (NQS).
For the third straight season, Bowling Green junior Jovannah East was named to the All-MAC First Team. She will be joined NIU Senior Anna Martucci who earned the honor for the second-straight year. Central Michigan standout Denelle Pedrick and Eastern Michigan sophomore Courtney Bezold highlight the rest of the 2019 All-MAC First team.
The All-MAC Second Team is made up of eight student athletes, including Central Michigan senior Gianna Plaksa, and Eastern Michigan's Emili Dobronics, who both earn the nod for the for the second straight year. The Ball State duo of Kaitlyn Menzione and Stefanie Schweikert represent the Cardinals on the second team as they finished the 2019 season with a 3-3 record in conference action. Western Michigan senior Rachael Underwood and 2018 Freshman of the Year, Morgan Spence both took spots on the team as well. Kent State senior Dara Williams and Northern Illinois sophomore Mia Lord round out the second team honorees.
The 2019 MAC Gymnastics Championships will take place Saturday, March 23th at Northern Illinois University. Check out
