MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- The Central Michigan men's basketball team will be appearing in the postseason for the fourth time in the last five years, accepting a bid to play in the 2019 Roman College Basketball Invitational.

The Chippewas will face the DePaul on Wednesday, March 20 at 8 p.m. ET at McGrath-Phillips Arena in Chicago.

"We are excited to be able to continue our season," said CMU head coach Keno Davis. "It is a great opportunity for our seniors to be rewarded as well as a chance for our returning players to gain more experience as they look ahead towards next year."

DePaul is 15-15 and finished 7-11 in the BIG EAST. Central Michigan is 0-2 versus DePaul all-time but the teams have not met since the 2010 season. Davis possesses a personal 3-1 record against the Blue Demons.

The Chippewas, 23-11, are coming off a semifinal loss to No. 1 seed Buffalo on Friday in the Mid-American Conference Tournament. CMU's 23 victories ties for the most in a season under Keno Davis and provides the program with back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since the mid 1960s.

The Roman CBI carries a field of 16 teams and games are played at campus sites. Should CMU advance to the quarterfinals it will face the winner of the Southern Miss-Longwood first round matchup on Monday, March 25. The tournament is re-bracketed after the quarterfinal round.

Last season, Central Michigan made a deep run in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament, defeating Fort Wayne and Wofford on the road before falling at Liberty.
