Behind a three-headed offensive attack, a low turnover count and solid defense, the Akron women's basketball team battled its way to a 69-62 Mid-American Conference win over visiting Western Michigan on Saturday evening at James A. Rhodes Arena. With the win over Western Michigan, Akron improves to 13-8 overall and 4-6 inside Mid-American Conference play. The Zips completed Akron's first season sweep of Western Michigan since 2011 and became the 15th team in Akron program history to win at least 13 games and the 12th Zips squad to do so in the Division I era.

Buffalo 75, Kent State 66 // Box Score
The University at Buffalo women's basketball team withstood a second half charge by Kent State to defeat the Golden Flashes 75-66 at Alumni Arena on Saturday afternoon. With the win the Bulls improve to 16-5 on the year, 8-2 in league play. Cierra Dillard narrowly missed out on a triple double, pouring in a game-high 31 points, including five from beyond the arc and 8-of-10 from the charity stripe, to go along with 11 assists and eight rebounds. Summer Hemphill recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds and Courtney Wilkins also chipped in 16 points, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.

Miami 82, Bowling Green 75 // Box Score
The Miami University women's basketball team (17-4, 8-2 MAC) beat Bowling Green (7-14, 0-10 MAC) by an 82-75 margin on Saturday. Lauren Dickerson led the RedHawks' offense with 31 points, scoring 17 in the fourth quarter, and tying her season-high six three-pointers. Savannah Kluesner and Leah Purvis also reached double figures, scoring 16 and 12, respectively. Kristen Levering pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds. Kendall McCoy hit a three-pointer on the first possession of the game.

Senior guard Mikayla Voigt (Slinger, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) led the Northern Illinois University women's basketball team with a game-high 37 points as the Huskies won their third straight game, a 93-83 win over the Ball State Cardinals at John E. Worthen Arena Saturday afternoon. Voigt was 10-for-18 from the field Saturday, going 8-for-12 from the three-point line and 9-for-10 at the free throw line. It was her third game of at least 30 points this season, and her fifth game of at least 20 points in the last six. Voigt had 25 points in the second half and 15 in the fourth quarter alone. Myia Starks (Plainfield, Ill./Nequa Valley) had 19 points and seven assists.

Ohio 78, Central Michigan 75 // Box Score
Behind five players with double-digit points, the Ohio Women's Basketball team (20-2, 9-2 MAC) went on the road and took down Central Michigan (16-6, 7-3 MAC), 78-75, inside McGuirk Arena on Saturday afternoon. "I'm really proud of our kids for hanging in there today," head coach Bob Boldon said. "This was a great environment and they had a tremendous crowd that backed them through the whole fourth quarter. When we allowed that 9-0 run to start the fourth quarter, our kids hung in there and battled through some turnovers and got the win. I'm very proud of them for that."

Toledo 63, Eastern Michigan 43 // Box Score
Toledo put the defensive clasps on Eastern Michigan en route to securing a 63-43 triumph on Saturday before 4,076 fans in Savage Arena. With the double-digit home victory, the Rockets improve to 14-7 overall, 6-4 in the Mid-American Conference. UT held the ultra-athletic Eagles (10-11, 3-7 MAC) to just 27.7 percent (18-of-65) from the field, including a frigid 12.5 percent (2-of-16) from three-point land, to successfully bounce back from Wednesday's loss at Buffalo.
