Akron:
Zips Fall At Pittsburgh, 4-3

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The University of Akron women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season with a 4-3 decision at Pittsburgh (3-3 overall, 0-1 ACC) late Thursday night at the Oxford Athletic Club. Pittsburgh took the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. At No. 2, redshirt senior captain Sophia Geier(Burgebrach, Germany) and sophomore Anna Uljanov (Schweinfurt, Germany), this week's MAC Doubles Team of the Week, were ahead 5-4 when the doubles point was clinched. In singles action, Akron (7-1 overall) claimed three wins.  Full Story...

Ball State: 
Women's Tennis Extends Win Streak To Three


MUNCIE, Ind. - Audrey Berger clinched match point this afternoon for the Cardinals at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center, giving Ball State a 5-2 win over Eastern Illinois. With the win, Ball State extended its win streak to three and improved its overall record to 4-1 on the season while Eastern Illinois drops to 3-3. Full Story...

Bowling Green:
Women's Tennis Concludes Weekend With Win Over Cleveland State

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis program closed out the weekend with a win over Cleveland State by a score of 4-3. The win brings the Falcons overall record to 4-3 on the season, including 2-1 over the three games this weekend (Feb. 8-10). BGSU is now 3-0 when playing at home and have won three of their last four matches. In today's contest, they were led by Paula Comella and Marharita-Sophia Tavpash who both rallied for wins in both singles and doubles play, giving the Falcons an early 3-0 advantage and setting them up for success.  Full Story...

Falcons Fall At Michigan State

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis program came up short against Michigan State falling 4-0 in a match that was called early. The loss pushes the Falcons' record to 3-3 on the season, including a 1-1 record for the weekend with one match remaining. Full Story...

Falcons Open Weekend With 6-1 Win

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Bowling Green State University tennis program came away with another home win on Friday, Feb. 8 with a final score of 6-1. This is the Falcons second consecutive win, with both coming at home. The win elevates BGSU's record to 3-2 on the season, including an undefeated 2-0 record at home. Buffalo:
Women's Tennis Rebounds With Win Over Towson

HARMER, PA – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team won all six singles matches on Saturday afternoon as the Bulls defeated Towson, 6-1.  With the win, UB improves to 4-1 on the year. Towson took the doubles point with wins at first and second doubles, but UB did come away with a win at three as Emel Abibula and Hsin-Yuan Shih won 6-2.  Full Story...

Bulls Fall At Duquesne

HARMER, Pa. -- The University at Buffalo women's tennis team dropped their first match of the season on Friday afternoon as the Bulls lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at Duquesne.  UB is now 3-1 on the year. The Bulls took the doubles point early with victories as first and third doubles.  After Duquesne won at second doubles, UB came back with a victory at third from the duo of Hsin-yuan Shih and Emel Abibula, 6-3.  Buffalo then clinched the point at first doubles as the team of Chantal Martinez Blanco and Nikoleta Antoniou-Karademitrou won, 7-5.  Full Story...

RedHawks Drop Home Opener

HAMILTON, Ohio -- Despite freshman Brindtha Ramasamy's fourth straight victory at number one singles, the Miami University women's tennis team dropped its home opener to James Madison by a score of 6-1 at Riverside Athletic Club in Hamilton. While JMU improves to 4-1, the RedHawks slip to 1-4 amidst a very difficult non-conference slate. Full Story...

Huskies Fall To North Dakota

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's team fell to North Dakota, 4-3, at the Boylan Tennis Center in Rockford Sunday. After losing the doubles point, the Huskies (2-4) were only able to split the six singles matches. Maria Potsi (Athens, Greece/1st Gel Cholargou) scored a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Kaede Amano at No. 2 singles, while Christy Robinson (Wellington, New Zealand/Samuel Marsden Collegiate School) earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles. Full Story...

Women's Tennis Falls To Bradley

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's team scored a 5-2 setback to Bradley at the Boylan Tennis Center in Rockford Friday. The Huskies (2-3) took the doubles point, winning all three matches. Women's Tennis Tops Wright State, 5-2

TOLEDO, Ohio -- The University of Toledo women's tennis team defeated Horizon League foe Wright State, 5-2, at Twos Athletic Club on Saturday. The Rockets' victory was built solely on singles points. Despite freshman/senior duo Christina Fuller/Claire Aleck's 6-2 win on the No. 3 court, the Rockets dropped the doubles point.  Full Story...

Rockets Edge Cleveland State, 4-3

TOLEDO, Ohio -- The University of Toledo women's tennis team edged out Cleveland State in a close 4-3 victory at Twos Athletic Club on Friday.  The Rockets kicked off the match by sweeping the Vikings for the doubles point. In singles play, junior Dee Dee Leenabanchong was the first to finish at the No. 1 court, sweeping Isabella Spindler 6-3, 6-3. With Toledo dropping its matches on the No. 3 and No. 4 courts, the pressure was on freshmen Eileen Carney and Christina Fuller, who were starting their third sets.  Full Story...

Broncos Fall To Cincinnati 4-3


KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan Women's Tennis team lost a close match inside West Hills Athletic Club on Sunday morning, falling to the University Cincinnati, 4-3. With the loss the Brown and Gold fall to .500 on the season with a 4-4 record.The Broncos picked up the doubles point to start the match off. The duo of Melina Lyubomirova and Femke Tjon-A-Joe (6-4) and Denise Azcui and Gabriela Slavova (6-4) picked up wins on courts two and three to clinch the point. Full Story...
