After scoring just 22 first-half points and trailing 24-22 at the halftime intermission, the Akron women's basketball team scored 61 second-half points powered by a career-night from junior point guard Shaunay Edmonds (Pittsburgh, Pa.) who dropped a career-best 33 points to lead the Zips to an 83-73 win over Bowling Green on Wednesday night. With the win, Akron improved to 16-10 overall and 7-8 inside the Mid-American Conference while the Falcons fell to 8-18 (1-14 MAC). The Zips swept Bowling Green in the season series for just the third time in program history and the first time since 2016. The Akron team also became the just eighth team in Akron program history to win at least 16 games in a season and the seventh Zips squad to do so in the Division I era.

Buffalo 73, Ohio 43 // Box Score
Senior guard Cierra Dillard scored her 2,000th career point and the Bulls defense stifled the Bobcats as the University at Buffalo women's basketball team picked up a big road win, 73-43 at Ohio on Wednesday night. With the win the Bulls improve to 18-8 on the year, 10-5 in league play. Dillard led all scorers with 35 points to go along with four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Her 2,000th career point came on a free throw at the 9:15 mark of the fourth quarter.

Central Michigan 81, Ball State 64 // Box Score
Three games to go in the Mid-American Conference women's basketball race and Central Michigan is back in a familiar spot, first place. Reyna Frost had 26 points and 15 rebounds on Wednesday as the Chippewas wrestled away an 81-64 victory over Ball State at the Cardinals' Worthen Arena, clinching at least a tie for their fourth consecutive MAC West title.

Kent State 67, Miami 58 // Box Score
Kent State put together one of its most complete games of the season and defeated Miami, 67-58, inside of the M.A.C. Center on Wednesday evening. The RedHawks entered having won 11 consecutive games and in sole possession of first-place in the Mid-American Conference standings. The Golden Flashes (16-10, 9-6 MAC) held their guest to its second-lowest scoring game of the season. Senior Alexa Golden led the stellar defensive performance with a career-high eight steals. Kent State forced 18 turnovers overall, and converted them into 21 points.

Northern Illinois 70, Eastern Michigan 60 // Box Score
Led by 27 points from senior guard Mikayla Voigt (Slinger, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran), the Northern Illinois University women's basketball team defeated the Eastern Michigan Eagles 70-60 at the NIU Convocation Center Wednesday night. "I was really proud of our team because I thought our demeanor was really good for 40 minutes," said head coach Lisa Carlsen. "We matched their physicality, and that's really tough to do against a team like Eastern. Even though we struggled a little bit offensively in the first half, I thought we were getting good shots and being aggressive in hopes that we would find our rhythm in the second half. We did a nice job on the glass and continued to battle for key rebounds, especially late in the game."

Toledo 73, Western Michigan 63 // Box Score
Senior Mikaela Boyd scored a team-high 22 points to lead Toledo to a 73-63 victory over Western Michigan on Wednesday before 3,377 fans in Savage Arena. With the double-digit home win, the Rockets improve to 17-9 overall, 9-6 in the Mid-American Conference. The two-time third-team All-MAC honoree shot an efficient 9-of-12 from the field and 4-of-6 from the charity stripe to surpass the 20-point plateau for the second time this year and eighth time as a Rocket.
