Frost Earns Fifth-Straight, 9th Overall Player of the Week Honor

Lauren Dickerson, Miami, Guard
Junior – Indianapolis, Indiana/Lawrence North

Junior guard Lauren Dickerson led the Miami offense to two wins last week to keep the RedHawks at the top of the conference standings and earn back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since the 1980's. Dickerson put together two 20-point games as she averaged 26.5 points per game this week. She was the top scorer for either team in both games. Dickerson also averaged 3.0 steals per game and 4.0 rebounds per game. In Wednesday's win at Toledo, Dickerson tied her second-highest point total of the season with 28 points while shooting 50 percent from long range. She has nine 20-point games this season.
 
West Division
Reyna Frost, Central Michigan, Forward
Senior – Reese, Michigan/Reese

Central Michigan senior forward Reyna Frost continued her dominate 2018-19 campaign as she racked up two more doubles in the Chippewas victories over Bowling Green and Northern Illinois this past week. The Reese, Mich., native averaged 30 points per game and 16.5 rebounds. On Wednesday's 92-54 road victory over Northern Illinois, Frost finished with 21 points and 20 boards. On Saturday, Frost poured in a career-high 39 points to go along with 13 boards for her 23rd double-double of the season in Saturday's 76-52 home win over the Huskies.
 
 
Other Nominees:
Megan Carter, Kent State, Guard
R-Junior – Farmington Hills, Michigan/North Farmington

Megan Carter averaged 20 points and 5 rebounds to lead Kent State last week. Carter scored 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting in a road victory against Western Michigan on Wednesday. The redshirt junior was clutch in the second half, accounting for all of the Golden Flashes’ points in the third period and then scoring four points in the final 1:06 to help seal the victory. Carter made all three of her 3-point attempts and finished with 18 points in Kent State’s second two-point setback to Ohio on Saturday.
 
Andrea Cecil, Bowling Green, Forward
Junior – Oak Harbor, Ohio/Oak Harbor

Bowling Green junior forward Andrea Cecil continued her stellar play last week, averaging 18.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in the Falcons’ two games against the league’s two divisional leaders. She tied for team honors with 14 points, going 6-for-10 from the floor, in the Central Michigan game on Wednesday. Then, on Saturday at Miami, Cecil scored a team-high 23 points, hitting 10 field goals, and added six boards and a blocked shot. Cecil has averaged 20.8 points over the last five games. During that time, she has shot 58.5% (38-of-65) from the floor, 50% (7-for-14) from three-point range and 87.5% (21-of-24) from the free-throw line.
 
Cierra Dillard, Buffalo, Guard
Senior – Rochester, New York/Gates Chili

Senior guard Cierra Dillard averaged 21.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game on the week, while shooting an impressive 19-of-20 from the free throw line. At Bowling Green Dillard scored 20 points, adding six assists, two rebounds and two steals. At Akron, Dillard led the Bulls with 23 points, including a career-high 17-of-17 from the free throw line, to go with 11 rebounds, three assists and four steals. Dillard ranks second in the nation in scoring (24.9 ppg), first in free throws made (181) and free throws attempted (227) and and fourth in final points (622).
 
Erica Johnson, Ohio, Forward
R-Freshman – Mansfield, Ohio/Mansfield Senior

In Ohio's 69-67 win over Kent State, redshirt freshman Erica Johnson (Mansfield, Ohio) recorded her third career double-double. Johnson had 24 points on 7-of-14 shooting in the victory. Johnson was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line and was 4-of-9 from the three-point line. Johnson pulled down 12 rebounds in the win, with 11 coming on the defense boards. Johnson added two assists and a steal in 33 minutes of play. 
 
Courtnie Lewis, Eastern Michigan, Guard
Sophomore – Belton, Michigan/Belton

Sophomore Courtnie Lewis led the way for the Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team, Feb. 20-23. Lewis averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, a steal, and an assist per contest for the Eagles. The Belton, Mo. native was particularly efficient, going 11-of-18 from the floor and knocking down 60.0 percent (6-of-10) of her free throws.
 
Kaayla McIntyre, Toledo, Center
Senior – Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy

Senior Kaayla McIntyre averaged a team-high 20.0 points, a squad-best 7.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and a team-best 2.5 blocks in two games this past week. McIntyre shot an impressive 60.0 percent (18-of-30) from the field and 80.0 percent (4-of-5) from the charity stripe in 29.0 minutes. She was the only Rocket to score in double figures in both contests last week. The Toledo native opened the week with a season-tying best 24 points, nine boards and three rejections vs. MAC East Division frontrunner Miami on Wednesday. Three days later at MAC West Division rival Ball State, McIntyre finished with a team-high 16 points, a squad-tying best five caroms and two blocks. She has now scored in double digits in 38-consecutive games, dating back to last season. With Saturday’s effort, she moved past Liz Meiring (1,435 pts., 1982-86) into 13th place in school history with 1,442 career points.
 
Gabby Nikitinaite, NIU, Guard
Sophomore – Orpington, Kent, UK/Coopers School

Nikitinaite led NIU with 17.0 points per game this week as NIU split games with Western Michigan and Central Michigan. The sophomore scored 14 of her 16 points last Wednesday in the second half as NIU defeated the Broncos 77-64. Nikitinaite led the Huskies with 18 points at Central Michigan Saturday, adding a season-high eight rebounds.
 
Haliegh Reinoehl, Akron, Forward
Junior – Westfield, Indiana/Westfield

Junior forward Haliegh Reinoehl led Akron to a big win over Buffalo (70-59) and was the second-leading scorer against Eastern Michigan in week 15 of the women's basketball schedule. Heading down the stretch of the regular season, Reinoehl played some of her best basketball to date as the junior averaged a double-double scoring 16.5 points per game and reeled in 11.0 boards per contest. Reinoehl shot an efficient 52.6-percent from the floor while also adding 2.0 steals and 1.0 block per match-up. Against the tough Bulls squad, Reinoehl posted a career-day and scored a career-best 23 points on 7-of-9 shooting, 2-for-3 from long range, and 7-for-9 from the free throw line. Reinoehl posted her fifth double-double of the season reeling in 13 rebounds, which is one shy of tying her career-high. In Ypsilanti, Mich., against Eastern Michigan, Reinohel scored 10 points and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds in the contest. The Zips forward also added three steals and a blocked shot. Reinoehl has now scored in double-figures in five straight games and in 12 of the last 13 contests. On the glass, Reinoehl has recorded at least five rebounds in 13 straight games and double-digit caroms in eight match-ups this season.
 
Deja Wimby, Western Michigan, Guard
Senior – Fort Wayne, Indiana/Snider

Deja Wimby paced the Broncos during their 1-2 week, which was capped off by a 71-68 win over in-state rival Eastern Michigan on Saturday to snap a seven-game losing streak. The senior point guard nearly averaged a double-double with 16.3 points and 9.7 rebounds through three contests, including a 21-point performance at Northern Illinois that tied a season-high, followed by her third double-double of the year versus Kent State with 20 points and 12 rebounds to go along with a perfect 6-for-6 effort at the charity stripe. Versus EMU, Wimby helped guide the Brown & Gold to a win with seven assists and eight boards.
