BATON ROUGE, La. –The Kent State softball team (6-5) fell to #10 LSU (14-3) 8-0 at Tiger Park on Tuesday evening. Golden Flashes pitching was able to hold LSU off the scoreboard in the first two frames before a flurry of offense from the Tigers sparked by three multi-RBI hits.

How It Happened
Kent State put three runners on all via walks in its first three innings as Kaitlyn Miller, Jen Cader and Kennadie Goth reached base. Pitcher Andrea Scaliwas able to work a clean first and second inning before allowing four runs in the third. LSU hit a two RBI single and a two-run home run to start the scoring.

In the fourth inning LSU scored one more on a fielding error by the Flashes. LSU scored three in the bottom of the fifth on a home run to end the game in run rule fashion.
KSU was outhit 7-2 with Goth and Carlee Selletallying two singles. Maribeth Gorsuch (4-0) went all five innings for LSU and allowed three hits with two strikeouts. Scali (6-1) allowed seven earned runs with three walks and three strikeouts.
