MACON, Ga. – The Akron softball team competed in the day two of the Orange and Black Tournament but fell to both Loyola (Chi.) 11-2 and tournament host, Mercer, 9-2 on Saturday in Macon, Ga.

SAN JOSE / SANTA CLARA, Calif.- - The Ball State softball team closed the second day of the Silicon Valley Classic I with a few fireworks Saturday, picking up an 8-6 win over CSU Bakersfield at the San Jose State Softball Complex and a 5-2 (8) victory over Utah State at the Santa Clara Softball Stadium.

BOILING SPRINGS, NC -- For the Bowling Green State University softball team, Saturday's journey was quite different from the day before, but the result was the same. The Falcons won a pair of games at the GWU Softball Tournament for the second-straight day, downing host Gardner-Webb and East Tennessee State on Saturday (Feb. 23).

WACO, Tx. – Kent State (6-3) swept its season series over #21 Baylor (8-7) at Getterman Stadium on Saturday. The Golden Flashes won a pitching duel in game one, 1-0. KSU took the nightcap in roller coaster fashion, 6-5, in extra innings on sophomore Alexis Taube'swalk off base hit. Kent State won two games in one day over a top-25 team for the first time in program history.

HOUSTON – Runs were hard to come by as the Northern Illinois University softball team split a pair of games on day two of the Houston Challenge hosted by Houston Saturday. The Huskies (7-7) earned a 1-0 victory over Incarnate Word in their first action of the day before falling to Houston, 8-0, in five innings.
