Indoor Track & Field Championships Begin Today
KENT, Ohio - The 2019 Mid-American Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships begin today at the Kent State Field House. The two-day championship features 12 women's programs and five men's programs. Events start at 10:45 am on Friday with the 60m of the men's heptathlon. The women's pentathlon follows at 11:00 am with the 60m hurdles. Trials for the running events are set for 3:00 pm.
In the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings, the 2017 MAC Men's Champions, the Akron Zips sit in 27th. Kent State, Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan rank No. 56, No. 114 and No. 139, respectively, to round out the MAC's presence in the polls.
On the women's side, Central Michigan sits in 48th in the national poll. Also ranking in the top-100 are Bowling Green (No. 50), Akron (No. 59) and Western Michigan (No. 95).
