MAC Gymnast of the Week
Jovannah East, Bowling Green, Junior
Jovannah East earned seven first-place finishes over two weekend meets, including tying the school record with a near-perfect 9.975 on floor against Kent State. East won the vault, floor and all-around in both meets, while also taking first place in beam against Towson. On floor, she scored 9.900 against Towson and tied national champion Marny Oestreng with a 9.975 against Kent State for the highest score in program history. Her 39.325 all-around score against Towson is tied for the seventh-best score in program history and her second-best total of her career. She added a 9.875 on both vault and beam against Towson, and a 9.850 on vault against Kent State. East’s 9.975 on floor and 39.325 all-around were both the MAC’s best this weekend.

MAC Specialist of the Week
Madison Trott, Kent State, Freshman
Trott paced the Flashes on bars with a career-high 9.850 to tie for the individual bars title and earn the first event win of her career. She also posted a career-high 9.825 on floor to tie for fifth place. Her scores helped Kent State post the highest all-around score (195.800) in the MAC this season, while also helping KSU post its highest scores of the season on both bars (48.975) and floor (49.050).

Madeline MacDonald, Ball State, Junior
Tied with teammate Jordyn Penny to be the highest-scoring performer in Sunday’s dual meet vs. NIU Totaled 29.500 on 3 events, with all events 9.825 or better. Career high 9.850 on vault --- tied her career best with 9.875 on bars (2019 season best). In Sunday’s meet: tied for first in vault & tied for first on bars

Denelle Pedrick, Central Michigan, Junior
For the fourth consecutive week, Denelle Pedrick has claimed FIRST in All-Around competition. This week however, Pedrick claimed number one in an aggressive fashion. After starting off the two events with a combined score of 19.050, Denelle Pedrick ran the competition out of the building by scoring two consecutive 9.9s on both Beam and Floor (Accumulating an All-Around score of 38.850). Pedrick continues to show leadership as an upperclassman, and continues to perform at an elite level.

Megan Hultgren, Eastern Michigan, Senior
Senior Megan Hultgren tied for second on vault and third on beam with 9.775’s for both events. Hultgren also earned 9.675 on bars, tying for sixth.

Abby Fletcher, Kent State, Sophomore
Fletcher recorded a career-high 9.850 on vault to tie for first in the competition and help the Flashes tally their highest score on vault this season. She recorded a season-high 9.875 on floor to finish in third place and lead Kent State to its highest floor total in 2019. Fletcher also finished seventh on beam with a score of 9.725. Her individual effort sparked the Flashes to score an all-around 195.800, the highest all- around total of any MAC team this season.

Allison Richardson, Northern Illinois, Junior
Junior Allison Richardson put together her best meet of the season in NIU’s win over Ball State as theHuskies earned a season-high score of 195.700, tying the sixth highest team score in school history.After opening her day with a 9.750 on bars to tie for seventh, contributing to the Huskies’ season highteam score on the event for the year, Richardson hit her floor routine with a 9.875 to take fourth. Her score helped the NIU floor squad set a new school record with a 49.425. With NIU needing to hit on beam to take the win, she scored a 9.750, the second best score on the team and tied for third overall, to complete her day.

Morgan Spence, Western Michigan, Sophomore
Western Michigan sophomore Morgan Spence won the uneven bars, floor exercise, all-around and was runner-up on the vault in the Broncos’win over Towson Sunday. She set two new career highs along the way, registering a 9.900 on bars and a 39.1250 in the all-around. She scored a 9.825 on the floor, a 9.750 on the vault and a 9.650 on the balance beam.

Kaitlyn Menzione, Ball State, Senior
Menzione dazzled the crowd with a 9.925 on the floor Sunday – the highest single performance for BSU this year The 9.925 tied her career best, which was set in March 2017

Taylor Worthington, Bowling Green, Junior
Competing on two events in each of Bowling Green’s two weekend meets, Taylor Worthington scored at least a 9.725 each time she competed, winning the vault against Kent State with a personal best score of 9.850. She added a 9.800 on beam against Kent State for third place.

Gianna Plaksa, Central Michigan, Senior
After one rotation, it was up to Gianna Plaksa to step up and give the Chippewas the boost that they needed. She did just that. Plaksa placed FIRST on Bars for the third week in a row, and for the fourth time this season. With Plaksa’s 9.825 performance, she propelled the Chippewas to a 195.050 to 192.750 win over the Eagles from Eastern Michigan.

Freshman Shannon Gregory posted 9.700 on beam and 9.750 on floor for the Eagles at Central Michigan.

Anna Martucci, Northern Illinois, Senior
NIU senior specialist Anna Martucci continues to shine in the anchor spot for the Huskies on floor exercise, this weekachieving her season high score of 9.950 in the Huskies’ dual meet victory over Ball State. Martucci’s first-placeroutine capped a stellar performance by NIU’s floor squad as, for the second time this season, NIU set a new school record for highest floor score with a 49.425. Martucci’s near flawless routine was scored as a 9.95 by both judges. For good measure she went out and hit her beam routine, tying her season best score on that event with a 9.700 to tie for fifth in the meet.

Shailyn St. Brice, Western Michigan, Freshman
Western Michigan freshman Shailyn St. Brice won the vault on Sunday against Towson, scoring a career-high 9.800. She also competed on floor, where her 9.675 was used towards the team total, helping WMU record its second best score of the year with a 195.025.
